poisonous patriarchy

How can anybody NOT feel sorry for the women in this culture?

How would YOU like to be controlled by a poisonous patriarchy?

Very sad indeed.

Mike Richards

Nancy Pelosi said, "Women have the most to gain with Sen. Obama and the most to lose with Sen. McCain,".

She also said, "The Republicans will try say this is women against men," or blacks against Latinos, or set religions against each other. "That is their playbook" of dividing Americans. "But we will unify this country and this party,"

As usual, Mrs. Pelosi said nothing. She thought that she was communicating, but that was just a figment of her imagination.

Chris Plummer

I guess you actually needed to read what she said and not a Deseret News article. Then you would know why Utah women are behind the political curve.

Craig Knott

This is the rest of the letter that I wrote and was cut....
....which I would agree with if that curve has made a very hard left. Also Sen. Ken Salazaar's (D - Colorado) opinion that Utah women "are where we (Colorado Democrats) were 10 years ago", I guess we can take comfort from the knowledge that Colorado's economy is where Utah's was at 10 years ago.

Sen. Salazaar followed that up with a word of encouragement, "if Colorado Democrats can make strides, so can Utah Democrats by electing pragmatic problem solvers." Maybe Sen. Salazzar was unaware that one of Adolph Hitler's favorite phrases to describe himself was a "pragmatic problem solver" or maybe he did. Either way Utah women should be well aware that the Democrats have targeted them to join the rest of the West in this millenium. Thank goodness for Nancy Pelosi.
