I think people are being really rude. This is about high school sports and specifically about football and for people to bring up how much they hate watching other sports or how unimportant they are is uncalled for. My girls soccer team works just as hard as the football boys and have had just as many conditioning practices. I don't expect to get the same attention or number of fans as football, but it's disrespectful to talk about how boring it is and how it is a sport for communist? That sounds completely ignorant. Don't talk about things you just don't understand (e.g. soccer does have overtime). I love my high school football team and they always try to make an effort to come to our big games. Its about the school and unity. Go Judge!!!

Yes, Cottonwood is big and can throw the ball. They stopped a pretty lack luster team in the Falcons. Layton will surprise a few people. It is team speed that will help with this game. Layton should have beaten Bonneville by 40 or 50 but touchdowns were called back and passes were dropped. Watch and learn what it is like to play at Layton. Layton had good people last year, but they have key people that no one knows about. Everyone picked CottonWood on this game, watch and learn what it is like to play at layton. (On Grass)

Soccer is not a sport it is a recreation. It is for kids that can't play football, basketball or baseball

How is soccer not a sport? There is a net, a score, plays, a ref, out of bounds, overtime and winners. Soccer in fact is the most popular sport in the WORLD!!! You are an ignorant, arrogant American who thinks that everything should be done your way. Soccer is for talented, quick, smart and athletic individuals. Just because you weren't good enough in high school to be on the football, basketball, or baseball teams doesn't make soccer not a sport. Get over yourself and have some respect.

Layton fans:

Will you admit that you are overrated if you lose to a 4A team tonight? If you win, then I will give you some credibility, but if you lose, you have no chance at even a semi-final appearance.

Hmmmm. let me think about it...At least in America, which is all that counts, soccer is simply an activity or recreation (yes they keep score...usually 1-0) for kids that are not athletic enough for 'Real' sports. You know the ones that people actually care about. You got me...I was just not good enough in HS to make the football, baseball, basketball, track, hockey, wrestling, volleyball, tennis, golf, ping pong, bowling, archery, tetherball, badminton, lawn darts, regular darts, 4 square, hop scotch or swimming teams so all that was left was soccer, so I gave up on my dreams. So go ahead put on your soccer bumper stickers, waive your 'Soccer is the most popular sport in the world' flag and call me a ignorant or an arrogant American. I am simply telling you NOBODY cares. Now go get with your soccer friends and drink some Capri sun and eat some orange slices.

To poser at 1:39-

Thanks for proving my point in that you are an ignorant, arrogan American. You even state "At least in America, which is all that counts..." That is the dumbest comment I have ever heard. Soccer is actually becoming extremely popular here in the states and it is only a matter of time before it takes over baseball in popularity. I love football, and basketball and would rather watch a football game than a soccer game. But to deny it as a sport, that is insane. And people do care about soccer, you will have to deal with that. Everything isn't always about you. Also when I played football in little leauge, I had more orange slices and Capri Sun then I ever did in soccer. If you don't have anything intelligent to say, you shouldn't post on the board. Your arguments are primitive at best.

Ha ha this convo is making me laugh. Yes soccer is the most popular sport in the world. BUT here in Utah, where we live, it is nothing compared to football and basketball. Don't get me wrong, I always would go to the soccer games, they were fun to just chill at. But nothing is like a football game and nothing will ever compare to the atmosphere of a basketball game where your 10 feet away from the action. They are all great sports, its just personal preference, and I prefer watching football and basketball.

No matter how much you soccer fans push your activity, it still remains irrelevant. blah blah blah...soccer is the fastest growing sport....blah, blah blah. You guys get so defensive. Did you ever think that the reason people rip soccer so much is just so see how upset you get? You are proving MY point. The fact that we are debating if it is a sport makes my primitive argument valid. Nice try. Soccer will NEVER pass up baseball. I have heard that for 20 years. They show the freaking little league world series on ESPN and ABC. They don't ever televise pro soccer in the states.

I would love to read more, but I need to run home and watch Soccer Tonight on ESPN 8 the Ocho

I completely agree with you. I love Football, Basketball and Soccer all equally. Soccer can be really entertaining and fun to watch but most of the time football and basketball are more exciting. Nothing beats an overtime game with your rival on an October night. Sports are wonderful and I love them. It just doesn't make any sense when people say soccer isn't a sport.

Football my not be as popular around the world as soccer, but neither is the constitution, freedom of speech, freedom of religion and all the other things the rest of the world hates us for.

yes, american soccer fans, the world hates you for what you have (freedoms) and what they don't have. Soccer won't make you any less hated.

long live football, baseball, basketball and apple pie.
