so... these people ignore all the meeting notices and pretend that none of this is happening - until the land is being sold and now they're all suprised?

Why don't these people attend a simple meeting so they can voice their opinions? Rod Parker is taking all their money. LOL

And the FLDS want to know the details of the land sale and who's buying it? Tell them it's being sold for a hunting lodge....

FLDS has the right to practice their religion. Communal living is an important part of their religion. The state of Utah pretnded to care about individual memebers of the FLDS in order to persecute a religion.

So 'nosugrof' thinks it's alright to practice religion when it's against the laws of the land? Bigamy is an offence! Underage sex is an offence! Not paying taxes is an offense! Defying laws is an offense! Depriving children of a 'normal' childhood must surely be an offense!
There is nothing normal or righteous about their lifestyle.It seems like these people are a law unto themselves. They like doing what they are doing and living like they are living but it does not make it right.

The fundamental problem is that the FLDS used to be run by several adults, so better decisions were made. Then Jeffs dad ruled without allowing other adults to have a say. Next, Warren Jeffs gained control of the FLDS, even though he himself admits he is not an appropriate leader. Having an incompetent leader who rules alone has really messed up the FLDS. Bad decisions were made.

The FLDS parted ways with Rod Parker at one point and they lost control of the UEP. Now Rod Parker has to swim upstream to attempt to gain some control by the FLDS over Wisan's actions regarding the UEP. Meanwhile assets of the FLDS are being drained by numerous legal actions.

Sell their farmland so they can't grow food......way to go.
This fiasco resembles the slow removal of native americans from their land.
Just send over some blankets laced with smallpox and get it over with. Perhaos anthrax would be a 21st century substitute for smallpox.

Mind control of their membership has allowed this to happen. The members can not attend a meeting if they don't know about it. These poor people are more to be pitied than censored. Remember this is a cult. Mind control is in the hands of a very few and all must obey.

Take your choice.
Have the UFT court appointed administrator sell some things to pay the FLDS debts and preserve as much as he can, or have the creditors sue - win - and have the courts sieze everything to satisfy the suits and court costs. The court then can sell it all. If anything is left that's returned to he trust to be distributed to the members. If that happens they've lost it all. This way preserves some of it.

The truth of the matter is that this so called farm is nothing but a sand dune that hasn't been farmed in years. The circular sprinkler systems have been ravaged and are in complete disrepair. The wells are in the same condition. Farming on this land was abandoned by the FLDS because it wasn't profitable. The only thing it feeds is rabbits and lizards. Several dust storms a year is the only crop this land produces. If it has any value at all, it's certainly not farming. 1.25 million dollars would be a gift to Wisan for this sand pile . . .

the Amish don't use technology but don't ban most books. The FLDS use technology (cell phones, etc) but ban almost all non-religious books and most internet access.

So the Amish allow their peoiple to know and somewhat understand the outside world, which allows the young people to choose whether to stay with the Amish or push forth on their own. They also teach regular classes in their school. They don't sugar-coat or make things up to cover things that may conflict with their religious views.

In other words, the Amish make it so people can choose, and the FLDS make it as hard as possible to do anything other than what the leader(s) decide for you.

That's why no one sues and no one complains about the Amish. A very nice and caring people. If you go to Penn and visit their area, they are very cordial, don't run and hide, etc. They may not trust you, but they will treat you fairly.

Now try that at Short Creek. They scatter like rats - you will be able to tell the difference immediately.

Ver sad for the FLDS children to have no choices and no future.

these people are an off shoot from the mormons not the Amish. they use cell phones and computers. Some of these people are very friendly and polite. They are hard workers too. They live in the Northern AZ desert just North of the Grand Canyon on the Arizona Strip.

oh boy RC.......Scatter like rats.....that's a good one.
I have heard that they kneel and pray when the tanks and troops desecrate their church. Faceing a tank with a prayer is kinda brave don't ya think.
I remember ole Bush making a comment about the guy in China after Tianamin.
As far as short creek, they also have a history of being invaded.
RC, you have been answered on more than several ocasions by flds men, women and children. What were they sending the message with........a microwave?

Ease off the over blown statements and wierd accusations. You are starting to sound like Flora.

The first CPS allegations were concerning lack of communications. I guess flds ran out to Walmart real fast and bought the cell phones that CPS confiscated from the women. Now take that theory and run with it.
BTW.....how many spokespersons has CPS had since this mess began.......where have they gone?
Could they have scattered like..........oh heck .......you finish the sentence.

obviously you have never been to short creek. If you went, you would laugh when the children and women all run into their houses or stare like deer in the headlights when a stranger shows up.

so yes - scatter like rats. it's actually quite amusing, and not "overblown" at all. Good comedy.

Yep RC..I've been to shortcreek. The people at the diner were friendly. Kids were walking with parents. Noone scattered. I talked with a few people about the weather and hit the road.
Nice folks.
