The important vote though is Representative Matheson voted for Pelosi as Speaker. Nancy Pelosi does not represent Utah in my eyes, therefore neither does Matheson.
I wish we would open our eyes and kick this guy out. He reminds me of the wolf in sheep's clothing.
I actually agree with courthousesnitch. I would rather have someone who is honest about who and what they are rather than someone who says they are a democrat when in reality they are a republican. I may be a registered democrat and will vote for most democratic candidates, but not for Matheson.
Wow! A man that can think for himself, and is willing to vote his conscience instead of being intimidated by hard-liners who will blackball anyone in DC that does not vote down party lines.
Now here is a man worth trying to keep in DC.
More important than which party he votes for, is does HE vote what his constituency wants.
IS he representing his constituency?
Ask Mr. Matheson why he signed on as a co-sponsor of the E-verify bill to prevent illegal aliens from being hired and now refuses to vote for the discharge petition to bring the bill to the floor for a real vote.
Ask him why he votes for Hate Crimes bills that will give the Homosexual lobby even more power to muzzle your religious views.
Ask Mr. Matheson why he votes to expand the CHIP medical program into the upper middle class so that we have people making 80,000 a year with kids on CHIP.
I contend that Mr. Matheson does not represent his constituency and is as Courthousesnitch commented a wolf in sheeps clothing.
The 2nd district needs real independent conservative representation and you won't get it with either Mr. Matheson or Mr. establishment pick Bill Dew.
He is not representing his constituency by voting for a Speaker who does not have the mountain west's best interest at heart.
Matheson votes the way a REPRESENTATIVE should vote- in the best interest of the people. People in the 2nd District are moderate, and so is Matheson. The vote for speaker is almost always a party-line vote. Why not talk about issues rather then who he voted for for Speaker- it is a distraction. I would much rather have a person who is independent from party lines. Look at our other Reps. Any person who votes with their party 98% of the time is just a sheep who can't think for themselves. Give me Matheson over those other morons any day.
It`s not too late. Get over to Denver and join your party. Stop pretending to be a Republican or just switch parties so we can vote for a real Democrat.
