How long and how far does Olympus football have to die before it is officially dead?

Same coach, same team, new season. I graduated from Olympus and it bugs me to see that we can't get anything done still. A buddy of mine who was on the team last year said that coach smith told the team that the '08 season was his last one if he doesnt do good, school is booting him afterwards if he does bad.

oh well did you skip english while at olympus high.
last I checked Coach Smith did not fumble the ball 7 times. It is a young team they will be alright this year.

What is that? An excuse to lose and not be responsible for it. There are lots of teams with a lot of Juniors on the team and they seem to win and lose with out making pathetic excuses.

This is the best team Olympus has had in a long time. They are young and will only get the better. I am sure they will make some adjustments that will improve the defense. BREAK OUT THE SUPER SOPHS!!!

Why hasn't Hille played football until now? He was fun to watch and really helped the team.

If the skyline olympus wasn't dead from them not playing in like 3 years, it surely has to be now. Loosing to a mediocre 5A team and calling it a break-in game. I would be surprised if they want to play you next year because it would be such a waste of a game.

How bad is it when the O cant even score against their practice team?

I stopped by the practice last night just to see what your all complaining about omg...it is true the O stinks.

Last year it was horrible and this year looks like they are going to keep wasting talent. Get a grip OLY you need an offence....... Spread the O out and make it weak....

all of you parents need to stop acting like you are in high school yourselves and buy into the program or get out because the program would be much better without your negative comments anyways! you guys need to realize that wether you are a junior senior or sophmore it doesn't atter if you come out to play and prove you can do the job best then thats who will be on the field friday nights.........

I agree with you 100%. It takes a real man to put his name on his post. Olympus looks 100 times better this year than they did last year. The offense is putting up numbers they just need to stop getting penalties and turning over the football.

Amazing what talent can do on the field as well. How about Jordan Archibald making some big plays at corner. What a stud and yes he is only a Sophomore.

This team could be a huge surprise in Region 6 this year. I like what I am seeing. Lets keep improving and shock the world.

I think Olympus only starts four seniors. The future is bright..VERY BRIGHT!!

A win is a win!

The defense was awesome.
Many times it came down to a great play at the right time. Wow what a difference a year makes!
We have a line that lays it out there. Give a big pat on the back to the boys woops MEN in the trenches.

Again the coaching was a bit suspect. Throwing on thee downs in a row at the end of the first half when you should really run out the clock. It is not a two-point game if we burn the time off the clock.

The offence looks great for a possession or two and then we skip, dribble, overthrow, fumble intercept and basically look inept on the offensive side.
These guys need to pick it up a couple of notches.

Get out and work harder than ever, get ready for the Jags!

For those of you who dont support olympus all the way why would you even try to find a blog place like this to say negative things, your giving the coaches a bad time about not doing what you think is a good job but yet you wont say it to their faces? Coaches arent the ones who get penalties or drop balls or miss blocks so you cant blame them for not winning. And saying that having a lot of juniors on the team is a bad excuse, well its not becacause its a fact and going from sophmore football to varsity football is a huge change that they are adapting to. Hillcrest might be an ok 5a team but a lot of the kids on their team were seniors and had that one year of experience to get them ready. By next year when the sophmores move up and all these juniors are seniors olympus will be a great team. The sophmores played alright their first two games and won them both by three touchdowns. And they also ran the same offence as the varsity so you cant say that it doesnt work.
