Sickest game ever way to play eagles
I was taken back by how Bingham's line was being manhandled by the smaller Skyline kids. If the Miners are the best team in the state, they sure didn't prove it. I am confident they will right the ship and will be a force to be reckon with, because on the few occasions when Filiaga and Langi made it to the second level they punished the linebackers and secondary.
Everyone had big bad Bingham ranked so high. Everyone talked up how unstopable they are. Well, they just got run all over by a better team. 4th in region Deseret news? Are you serious? Not the skyline we used to be? Just wait.
Way to go Eagles! Good luck the rest of the season.
It was surprising to finally see Bingham on the losing end, but I'm not surprised Skyline took it to them. Experience is huge and they are returning a lot of starters. Bingham will bounce back, and Skyline is going to be tough. No one is going undefeated this year in 4A or 5A, and all you Timpview fans are going to say you are, but you probably won't after only winning by 4 tonight. High school football is the best!!!
It is a good decision to sit three of our best players so we can loose to a basically unranked team. I love how everyone was saying how Yack was going to carry the load this year but he gained what 5 yards with 15 carries. Heck put me in pads and I could gain more yardage. I will tell you that I was impressed by Harvey Langi. We need to give him the rock and watch what he does with it. Look for us to come back and have a good season once we get Peck, Giron, and Rogers back in the lineup.
Great to see Bingham take its licking from Skyline.
Now when East destroys Skyline, it will mean something.
East baby!
Bingham didn't come with heart, we came wanting to win. We may have wanted, but not through heart. We thought, would be a blow out. B ut wasn't.
whatever.... this year wont be that great, utah football has gone down hill. not NEARLY, not even close, to as much talent as the season 2 years ago, not to mention last year. have fun playing powder puff little kids
What a fabulous game!!!!!
This Skyline team has heart and wasn't afraid to come out and give it their all. The defensive line saved the day and showed us some of the old school Skyline. Like the team program said "Play as one...get it done!!! It's great to see some passing.
MVP: Caleb Latteier & Carter Craigo
I just love HS football. It is the best. With nothing else to do I dropped in on the Bingham Skyline contest. Now that was a game! Brute power against tall skinny speed. I was intrigued with all the razor thin fast crafty players that Skyline put on the field. As the game progressed, the huge Miners just couldn't handle it. Is this a typical Skyline team? Now I understand why Skyline has been so tough. Interesting game to say the least. No question both of these teams will be in the chase for the rest of the season.
Bingham - who?????????
Go Skyline !!!!
Bingham is the new Skyline? I think the media got a little out of hand after the schools first state championship in 60 years. Bingham has a long long long way to go beofre even being mentioned in Skyline's breath. They are more like the New Hunter or Davis or any other school who wins state once every decade.
That a kid Kev! Way to make to the family proud! I'll make sure to get out to some Eagle games this year.
Six starters missing from Bingham, ouch it showed!!! Those sophs sure stepped it up though, just not enough for the W. I expect a lot more from this Bingham team in the future, especialy if they can stay healthy. Skyline played a great game and earned their win, congrats.
Not a typical skyline team, an experienced one. I work with a Miner and told him that the eagles would be in the top three teams this year to state, and they would be trouble for the miners in the opener. Typical Bingham arrogance to shun the comment. This wasn't Cinderella, this was a very good squad from skyline that should be a team to beat late into November.
Good luck taking it to the hawks next week, they'll be ready for you Miners.
I was there and have no ties to either team but I was happy for Skyline. It was a big win for them. I have to say the difference in that game was the complete and total lack of blocking by Bingham's line. Skyline's defense looked like superstars the way they man handled bingham's line. I follow football closely and all I've heard this year is how big bingham is and how their strength would be up front. That couldn't have been more wrong from what I saw. If Bingham is going to have any success this year, those boys better step it up and give your backfield a chance, If not, it will be a long year. All in all though a fun game to watch.
Looks like there is another dog in the fight
This skyline game might be the best thing for the Miners. Quit reading about playing Trinity, being ranked, etc. and start working harder. Our conditioning was obviously poor, we got worked on the line, our corners were beat even when the pass was off, and for the first time in a long time, we seemed to have lost our enthusiasm before the game and certainly during it. Usually we are pretty loud and bounce around screaming before a game. None of that last night and well, you all saw the outcome. The way to fix this is not to blame the guys who were suspended but to look inside ourselves and admit that we weren't prepared and played without emotion. If each player takes that approach and re-dedicates, we can be there at the end of the year when it really counts. Might also help to be like that this week or Alta will take it to us. I still believe in the Miners but we DO have work to do. Players and coaches - Keep working.
