Comments about ‘High school football: Riverton discovers winning formula in 4th quarter’

What I saw tonight was a Timpanogos team trying to work things out on the field that should of been worked out all summer long. It doesn't matter how good a defense is, if they are on the field the entire game, they will give up points. Timp should of shut these guys out. Offense was horrible.

I played football for Coach Miller when he was at Olympus! He knows this game very well. He finds ways to win. First game jitters are tough but his teams still find ways to win. I'm proud of these young men. Good luck Coach Miller, Staff and Riverton Football players on a great season.

I arrived about mid-way through the third quarter to this game and I do not recall a single run by Timp. Maybe one or two. Even when the team was leading, Timpanogos tossed the ball around.

Are the T-wolves generally that pass-happy?

re: high school football fan, yes they are. they run a spread offense. so naturally they throw a lot. remember hearing about them breaking a bunch of state records last season? none of that was running the ball.

some things you cant iron out during a summer camp. you have to play other people. this is especially the case with zero offensive returning starters, and inexperienced quarterbacks and offensive line. but i agree. defense gave the offense too many chances to score that they didnt take. good first game.

Very dissappointing first game for Timp. The defense did a great job. I like the control they have at the line. Blitz all night! :)

are you serious? that offense was so bad it looked like nothing got worked out in the summer. at least they switched qb's, the first one was terrible, the second did a lot better. hope they have a 3rd qb cause i thought the 2nd almost got killed!

bad offense. brown did not cut it last night. get fowler and rivers ready to roll. whoever is the qb throw the other at wide out. both have good hands. props to defense.

for how high rivrton is ranked they got shut down by the twolves. great game by the twolves defense very good compared to last year. games are not as exciting if timp isnt scoring a ton. riverton looked confused covering the pass. timp if you are going to pass that much you better get a better qb and wr.

Am I a WR or QB? Wait QB or WR this play? Am I catching or throwing? I'm surprised the QB didn't throw himself a pass that game. The QB and WR were rotating at each position last night. What is going on with that offense? Coach, make up your mind!

Twolf defense was great. Offense will get better. It was the first game. The emphasis during practice so far this season has been focused on defense. Don't judge the season by the first game. Another part of the game that was good was the kicking and punting. It was awesome. Way to go Parker Brown. Looking forward to next week. Go Twolves!

It's hard to believe the emphasis was on defense, no one can tackle! You want to know how many sacks or tackles behind the los they should of had. What exactly are they emphasizing? The program is a dud, it is going no where. Most of you timp parents have no idea what a good football program can do, I feel bad that you will never experience it.

first game jitters was all that was for the silverwolves there defense was strong and knew exactly what was going on the offense struggled a little but it will get worked out. we will see what happens down the road but t wolves never had a chance

re anonymous First ,learn correct grammar. Their not there. Secondly, your Riverton team was not much better than the T-wolves. Both teams will work out their jitters. You'll be surprised at the end of the season how the T- wolves will end up doing. Don't write them off.

people forget, that the game is about having fun and turning young boys into men.. i think parents are getting caught up in the wrong areas, yeah the game may not have been pretty and yeah the t wolves lost but, what do you care? your not out there on 4th and long with 6 seconds left, your not the one making the calls, your the one who is still re living there old high school football days and acting like your coach parcells, at the end of the days its just a game, and you should be congradulating both sides, and not being negative

games over do something else with your life and let the teams move on to next week.

nobody ever said that we dont respect the twolves and they really did a fantastic job. i know they will go on to do great things this season and im excited to see that out of them great game.

So losing games you should win is fun? I'm sure that is what the coaches and boys felt after the loss.

now its panic time for the t-puppies wholesale changes comming what are they going to do after hunter scores 25 points on them not many players left to chose from at Timp.

no one is in a panic at timp. they will come out and beat hunter. top players to choose from all they way down to the sophs. sophs can especially help on the offensive side. senior defense is looking really good. GO TWOLVES!

This soph class and their parents continue to believe that they walk on water. Word to senior offensive players: Go home.. Word to Junior offensive players: Not even a mention.. Words to this soph parent: Quit wasting your time making comments in this forum and get back to what you do best (hanging out at football practice, kissing up to coaches, living through your kid..) Interesting reading...is there some internal fighting going on or what? Why don't the sophs play the varsity team, and winner stays! :)
