Interesting article.
I have a personal shrine, not just of Elvis, but he certainly set me off.
There are two levels. The top shelf is the spirit level: it has statues of the Buddha and Boddhisattva Tara, a Christian crucifix and icon of Mary and baby Jesus, a Jewish Menorah, and pictures, statues and carvings of Hindu deities. Also candles and an incense burner. The second level contains pictures of people on the prayer list or people to remember - Elvis has his picture here - a scintillating picture of him performing on-stage with rainbow lights radiating from him. I don't think he actually needs our prayers. My grandfather's photo and tobacco case that saved his life in World War I are also on this shelf, along with rosemary and red poppies for remembrance. Photos of other deceased family members too.
