Bring some carrots in a Ziplock

I smell franchise boondoggle! Hold on to your wallet!

Good luck making a profit...you can't purchase "healthy" items wholesale for $.75 - $1.

Interesting...

I guess the best luck to her and this idea, but it is interesting to me that because of the choices we make when it comes to our health and eating habits that we are seeing ventures like this more often. Whatever happened to moderation in all things?

I'm glad to see that the junior high I teach at is getting one of these "healthy" vending machines--many of the kids, especially the boys, will drink two or three high-sugar sodas, Gatorades, or other "energy drinks" per day. It's disturbing.

And yet...despite all the doom and gloom about the junk food vending machines, without them we lose money that's bought computer labs, textbooks, and paid for student activities. Because our contract with Pepsi wasn't renewed this school year, we're already out $7,000 that we would have had in our budget for 2008-2009.

Sometimes dealing with the devil is profitable...especially when you're trying to pay for a child's education in Utah. Classrooms built for 25 students, packed with 39...we've gotta find extra money somewhere.
