I would like to know why people are suddenly so concerned about State employees violating their work hours. I have not seen any of this is my area. I would like to address the Health Dept employee who went into the office on a Friday to "make a phone call" and saw some lights on. The idea is to keep the offices closed to save money on heating, air conditioning, and lights. Someone should be monitoring who uses their cards to enter on Fridays and they should be reprimanded. If someone comes in late or leaves early on a ten hour day, they probably did it on an 8 hour day and they shouldn't have ever gotten away with it. It's an election year and the legislators are just listening to a handful of their constituents. Maybe they should be checking their own time.

People are suddenly concerned about State Employee's because of the Governor. He has tried to change State Government from the begining of his term. He's tried to take away benefits, retirement, change the merit system etc. When he found he couldn't go through the Legislators he's making changes on his own. The score card that he's created to measure the volume of work completed will show which method works better, 5 8 hour days or 4 10's.
