Brett is amazing | 10:39 a.m. Aug. 20, 2008
Those who know and understand football realize that BYU just landed a playmaker. This kid is the real deal and it should bother ute fans that understand the sport.

>>Actually, it's a 4-4 record over the past eight seasons, and the Utes fall farther behind if you go back 12, 16, 20, 30 years.<<

Over the entire series, The Utes own the kitties.

to Uncle 'Mo @ 8:55 p.m. on 8/19/08

Shouldn't it be Uncle La-mo (pronounced with the long A sound)? ROFL.

Hope Brett does very well, but he is not even close to Austin in talent or football smarts when compared at the same stage.

That's ok, we'll be happy to 'settle' for "a guy who runs good routes", because while he's running his route you're superiorly athletic corner will bite on it and get burned again on another 4th and 18.

It's not always about the fastest and most athletic.

Dick ever bother checking any facts before he gives his opinions? Granted he's a columnist and not a reporter, but a fact once in a while would be nice.

lost another one. sure, you didn't really want him in the first place.
Re: Ernest T. Bass | 3:07 p.m. Aug. 20, 2008
Watch the tape of Harline humbling Weddle in 2006. Someone who runs his routes is better than a hot-shot D back. Try watching last years game and tell me Collie on 4th and 18 is not better than Utahs great defense.
Re: stinks | 3:14 p.m. Aug. 20, 2008
Your rationalization for playing Weber is too funny. Who's next, SLCC, another in-state school? Maybe you don't want to play a school with higher academic standards.

Next on Utah's list of schools to play in Utah is Dixie and then Southern Utah. I heare BYU-Idaho has some decent intramural teams.

I know for a fact that both austin and Brett have grown sick of the comparisons. All they did was go to the same High school years apart. Brett may know the Collies well, but he does not know Austin that well considering that Austin has been on his mission or in Provo for the last five years while Brett has been in El Dorado Hills BTW he had only played three years of football, while Austin was raised by a father who played CFL and NFL.

Never even heard of the kid before this article. Big deal. Good luck, I hope he enjoys his days at BYU.

Please define the word "heare." No wonder you refer to your posts as coming from "Anonymous."

UCLA as this recruit will witness california at it's best then understand why he got offered BYU.

Utah fans make me laugh. "Never heard of this kid before this article. Big deal." They all act like the 53rd ranked reciever is an also-ran. That's funny. BYU's next highest ranked reciever that has committed is at 77. The funny part is that Utah's highest ranked reciever is at 179(Chanzell Porter). And their making fun of BYU?! Now there's some good old fashioned Ute logic for you.

Brett is not only a hard worker and good athlete, he is a good person as well. He is a devout practicing mormon, and never fails to support his teammates, no matter how what national rank we are. Thompson will work hard for BYU and become the best he can be. Good luck, Brett!
