What about next year?...............................................Thought so.
They'll be back digging in your pocket shortly. ANYTHING but actually CUTTING the cost of bloated government.
Leaving $100 million in the uniform school fund while spending the lowest amount per student in the nation is a little like getting your years supply while your kids are going hungry. Sorry senators, I really don't think this is something to brag about. "Sorry kids, no dinner tonight; but look at all the food on our shelves!"
Utah is well managed because of Republican leadership. If the Democrats were in control we'd have higher taxes and deficits like California.
Of course Utah is. Government always has the pockets of the taxpayers to get into if they have any difficulties. Windfall property tax increase doesn't hurt either. Utah has an irresponsible government from the governor to the city councils. With unrestricted taxation and fees how else could we amass a $100 billion dollar reserve of excess taxes? And Utahn's are stupid enough to think the republicans aren't responsible for this? That the republican state has its citizens paying the highest taxes in the country? Republicans think this is good? Utah repubblicans have the highest rate of corruption and fraud in education in the country? The republicans have undermind and destroyed income and wages in Utah as the lowest in the country? The cost of living in Utah is higher than the rest of the country? How naieve and stupid can you get? Rave on Sheepole and count your blessings, being enslaved to government has its benefits. You don't have to think.
I'll agree that Utah is BETTER managed than California. Well managed? No!
Why would we trust a word from our state leaders, when it rains we will find the truth of over spending on private deals and not enough in the coffers for the real issues concerning tax payers
To Anon 6:18. Yes, Utah is "well managed." But my guess is that they are getting their facts from the PEW Report that came out this past spring ranking state governments. There were actually 3 states in the Union that were voted as well managed. The other two were Washington State (Democrat Leadership) and Virginia (Split leadership, mostly Democrat). Check out the PEW Report in Governing Magazine online.
So please before you say that the reason Utah is well managed is because of the Republican Party, please check your facts.
The legislature may have been good money changers, but democracy has taken a big hit in the state with 25 years of Republican rule.
If Bob G is that troll from California, we should probably just ignore him. But at the risk of empowering the troll, I'll offer a few facts: Our tax burden is somewhat high but not in the top 10 (definitely not the highest), and our cost of living is just barely above the national average. And where does one come up with this "rate of fraud and corruption"? Is there an official rating available somewhere? :-)
