Values down, taxes up. | 11:40 a.m. Aug. 14, 2008
My home values are down by 5%, but my taxes are going to go up by 10%? What's wrong with this picture. Add to that increasing food and gas prices and we're making a lot of family sacrifices - why can't the city?

When home values are down that means we pay less taxes. So a 10 % tax increase really amounts to a 5% increase over last year.
