Greece is gonna get friggen blasted by 40. The U.S. is pissed about Athens! USA...USA...USA...USA
If there is anything less competitive than our NBA all-star Olympic team mowing its way through to a gold medal, I haven't found it. The spirit of the games died 20 years ago with the first dream team.
This year's team couldn't be any better prepared for the dreaded pick n roll, considering Boozer and Williams are in the lineup. They can run it constantly in practice and keep the celebrity players like LeBron and Kobe "sharp." Yawn.
re: Greece is going down. Dude, get some facts straight, in Athens USA lost vs Lithuania, Puerto Rico and Argentina. They lost to Greece in Japan in World championships.
Sounds like: If little Greece dares to question our "names" it's next in queue
for invasion!
If Greece has such good PG's why are they not heavily recruited in the NBA?
I don't think I have ever been so excited to wake up at 6:00 a.m. as I am tomorrow to watch this game!
Yes, yes, the 1992 Dream Team was brilliant compared to its competition, and probably better than any team since. Can we please move on now?
And as for Greek guards, the days of assuming the best players are in the NBA have passed, just ask Josh Childress and the Atlanta Hawks. Besides, both LeBron and Kobe said they'd play in Europe too for the right money. Times have changed.
In our last game, Anglola, a smaller team, outrebounded TeamUSA. And if that doesn't say enough about TeamUSA's bigs, consider that 53% of the rebounds came from Dwayne Wade, Jason Kidd, and Kobe Bryant and Chris Paul... all guards, and not our bigs (Dwight Howard, Chris Bosh, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Carlos Boozer, and Tayshaun Prince).
Eek!
Also, Angola shot as bad as TeamUSA (29%) from the arc, and their midrange game stunk too, meaning most of their 76 points were scored inside against our bigs.
For all the buzz about TeamUSA's outside shooting, the BIGGER problem may be inside. TeamUSA has a BIG problem.
Most of you people talk like George Bush. Remember "mission accomplished" and "bring it on"? See where that brought for USA. I wonder what you say or do when Greece beats USA.
Regardless, do any of you know that Greece is a country of 10 million? ANd you are here bragging about beating Greece? Gee..wow..Go OBAMA!!!
What time is the game with Greece and on what channel? Thanks.
D Will said the guards were strong, not good.
It's nice to see the Obamamaniacs are so invested in US defeat that it even extends to a game of basketball.
I too wish that defense was more important to the prima donna NBA elitists.
Remeber, the reason for the Dream Team in Nineteen and Ninety Two was the Europeans were playing their professionals against our amateurs. The spirit of the Olympics had already died before the dream team.
will someone tell us what time and what station..??
While I've never wished an injury upon anyone, with the sole exception being Michael Jordan, Brandon Roy's
injured knee will allow the Jazz to win the division race earlier in the year rather than the final week of the year. Also, maybe we'll even win the season series b/w these teams this time (last year, only the lakers and trailblazers beat us in a series).
