Good, something needs to happen. Now lets work on the pollution in the city.

I can see a need to be resourceful, and save our energy to best of our ability both on an individual level, and city and state levels, but to be so completely arrogant by thinking we can fix the earth by forcing people to reduce their CO2 footprint is going to be an exercise in futility. Even if the entire earth of people reduce CO2 output to zero it would make not a pea size of difference in what the earth will do. This is truly barking up the wrong tree. Have they even thought in for a minute the cost of trying to sequester Methane from the dumps? And all for nothing.

Now if we could just get Beijing and Dehli to do the same thing we'd make some progress. If we could convince AL Gore to give up his private jet and his fleet of Suburbans, you'd know people were really getting serious.

Oh, there's a footprint alright. Somebody stepped in something but it wasn't carbon.
