but was absolutely amazed at the effort Lezak put forth the win gold for the US. Which seem to take a back seat to the trash talking French. Go Team USA!!! Go Michael Phelps!!!
I have NEVER seen such an amazing race. During the last leg my family and I were emotionial invested in the Americans beating the French. We were wooping, yelling, and celebrating like BYU just beat Utah. This kind of race is why it is so fun to watch the Olympics. GO USA!
The looks on the faces of the French swimmers were priceless. The best was the guy who was swimming the 4th leg of the race was the guy that proclaimed they would "Smash" the American team. How's that crow taste? MMMMM, it's good!
I WAS WOOPING, YELLING AND CELEBRATING LIKE IT WAS UTAH BEATING BYU --- GREAT RACE ---
One of the greatest races in Olympic history. Lezak was amazing. A 32-year-old, well past his prime, swimming the fastest relay leg in history to overcome a full body-length lead by the World Record Holder in the 100-meter freestyle.
Oud u lika soom fraunch fries weeth yor crows? Oui? No? Take zat u seely Fraunch peoples!
Hey France, tell me how the smash tastes!
What an example in sports to never give up!
it was an awesome comeback, but even more awesome with the pre race talk and whatnot. Put up or shut up, and I think they thought they had it in the bag, I did too until the last 20 meters or so. I loved the underwater shots where you could see them looking at each other down the stretch, bet the French guy got a little nervous.
The race was unbelievable, the finish a fairy tale but I wish they would show more than just once the sportsmanship of Phelps as he was the only one of the USA team to step over to the French team immediately after the race and offer his congratulations and again when they were on the podium, Graciousness in victory is more telling about character than anything else. Congratulations go to Micheal's mom as well as to the great USA team for this victory. It is that poise that will mean the most in life, going fast in the water will only lasts so long, then you have to climb out of the pool and go on. The person you are is what will count from then on.
Lezac's effort reminds me of the effort Greg Ostertag used to give the Jazz every night.
oh my gosh that was the most incredible finish i've EVER seen!!!! lezak just knows how to pull it out at the end!!! who's talking now, french?! uh huh, thats right, USA!!!! they talked the talk, but we sure walked the walk!!! go team USA!!!
That was one of the greatest sports event that i honestly think have ever happend
it sure is a lot easier to congradulate a team on a good race when you won after they were talking crap...
if USA had lost by a large margin, you might not have seen the same thing going on...
