It never ceases to amaze me how unloyal Jazz fans can be on these posts. Boozer had an absolutely outstanding regular season; the Jazz would have certainly missed the playoffs without him, his scoring and rebounding.

I think he was referring to the fact that Boozer's been playing about 5 minutes a game with team USA, and didn't even check in against Australia.

But it is kind of a lame trend to hate on Boozer these days, I agree.

Funny how some think on here if you dare speak against Boozer your not a loyal Jazz fan. I don't hate Boozer and I want him on the team but I am leery of his loyalties and where they lye. If you think he is committed to the Jazz and Dwill and a championship then you are a fool. He left the best player in basketball (Lebron) to come here on promises that he was going to stay in Cleveland to do the same. And if you want to break it down he has had one productive year out of four here. The first two were injury plagued then a legit year and then this year he disappeared the last two months of the season and in playoffs. His defense is less than average. With that in mind he is going to opt out this next summer and want more money and right now he is not worth it. Pay him the money say goodbye to Milsap, Brewer, Korver, because there is not enough money to keep them. Sorry but I don't trust Boozer and do not think he is worth the extra money. Just the facts.

No, not "just the facts"...just your opinion is what you should've said. The fact is that no player today in the NBA makes a decision out of loyalty First and Foremost. Even D-will wouldn't have signed if the Jazz didn't MAX him out. If Boozer stays, it will be because he gets paid what he thinks he's worth and because he is smart enough to know that the Jazz with D Will is the best fit for him to become a perennial All Star, etc etc. Those are the facts. And they are no different for Boozer than for any NBA player.

I have been a die hard Jazz fan for 20 years, and the Jazz are NOT giving up Boozer. You don't need to trust him, because the Jazz have that taken care of. I have my questions about Booz, but I am willing to see him through until we get a big man inside to help with defense. Booz' one on one defense is fine, it's his help defense, etc. that stinks...and that will be virtually a non-issue if we get a decent big man inside to help. If not, then we can trade him. NUFF SAID

You're right about nobody being loyal anymore. LeBron grew up in Ohio, but everyone is expecting him to ditch for New York, even though they were a worse team last season, and he's only acted to support the rumors.

Nobody is loyal in the NBA anymore. Even DWill would ditch the Jazz if he felt like he was getting a better offer.

Boozer's one on one defense is fine? I guess its great if you like to watch bull fights. the only think missing from Boozers defense (especially one on one) is OLEY! Getting that off my chest i actually like Boozer and think he makes the jazz a better team but not at max money! he is worth what Bougut and Okafor got 12mill a year not 18.

Just so to state fact and not fact to the RE: at 12:39.

Fact:
Bolted Cleveland on false pretenses.
One out of four years production.
Defensive liability.
Will want more than 12 Mill a year.
If rewarded big money, Jazz do not have enough money to sign current roll players.

My Opinion:

Not worth more than 12 Mill a year.
Will opt out of contract and bolt.
Not worth losing roll players over.
Better or close to players available for
less money.(see below)

Lamarcus Aldridge would be a great pickup and is a free agent next summer.
He is 6'11 and 240 pounds. Last season scored
17.8 ppg and 7.6 RPG and a bonus of 1.2 BPG. If Boozer wants a ton of money this guy is a great option with a little drop in scoring and rebounds and a big body to boot.
Could easily replace Boozer. Just my opinion.

I agree Booz is not worth Max money. With regard to his defense being "fine", I think if you were to look closely when Boozer is matched up against a similarly sized power forward in the post in an isolation situation, you would see Booz does ok. I said fine, which means acceptable, doesn't mean great. If he's guarding Duncan, Amare, or other dominant players that are bigger or longer, he gets killed, but most players his size would, including Milsap. The reason Milsap gets praise is because his "help" defense is Superior. Same reason Andrei gets praise. Boozer is not that "shifty" kind of defender, which he probably could be if he tried to be. And for the record, I love Milsap.

Last thing I want you and all other Jazz fans to think about is this: How bad do you think we all would complain about Booz' defense if we had a shot blocking 7 footer in the middle? We might a little, but it wouldn't be the topic of conversation every time Booz' name is mentioned, like it is right now. If we get a big man and Booz is still a liability, come talk to me.

Thanks for clarifying. For the most part I agree with your OPINIONS, especially about LaMarcus Aldridge, if we could get him. I don't agree that Boozer wants to bolt, though he may do it for money if the Jazz aren't in the ballpark.

Your facts, however, are still off. First, Boozer bolted Cleveland because the money was substantially better...and it is hearsay to even talk about what was "promised". For all we know Booz simply expressed a desire to be in Cleveland if things worked out right.

Second, you can't say it's a FACT that last year was unproductive. He slumped during the last part of the season and the playoffs, but it was way out of character, which tells me something else was going on in his life that affected him. His numbers all year were still GREAT!

Third, Defensive liablity. True, but you can say that about the team defense collectively as well. I'll give you that one though.

Fourth, the Jazz may still have enough money to sign role players and give Carlos Big money if AK is dumped (not that I want that)...but it's not a foregone conclusion.

No hard feelings, I just enjoy the debate.

You don't have be blind to be a Jazz fan.

It's okay point a players warts and still cheer for the team.

To be true Jazz fan does not mean you have be ignorant and blind the team deficiencies and problems.

You can be totally aware of and note them and still be big jazz fan.

Hey ID Jazz...couldn't agree more. I also find it refreshing to exchange constructive and thought provoking comments instead of all the attacking. I'll make it easy on you and just go by "BP" from now on when I post on the DesNews. I didn't really think about my screen name when I was responding to your comments, since I never really expect anyone to respond constructively to mine. Nice to have a like minded individual to go back and forth with. It also seems like one or two others might join in the civility.
In the past I haven't posted much because of the multitude of ridiculous comments, but more and more I've seen good commentary...so I hope in general it changes and I'm sure you'll see more of me and others on the boards.

You guy's do all the bashing you want, but as for me and my house, we are waiting for the games to begin. not in China, but in utah! we are going to have another good year. I feel it in my bones. We are having more televised games this year, which is a good thing. We want to let the world see what a good team the jazz are/is...?? GO JAZZ!!

Not really. I'm just boasting. (If a man "boastes," let him boast in this...) If we're going to argue, I'd rather argue about sports; there's a lot less harm in it. Not to mention a lot more fun.

I don't know about this "fact" that Boozer has only had one productive year out of four. He didn't finish out last year like we all wanted (needed) him to, but I think it's stretching credibility to say he didn't have a productive year.

I guess you could still argue that 2 out of 4 isn't enough (and you might be right) but for myself, I like what he's done now that he's healthy. Booz isn't perfect, but power forwards don't come much better. I think you're looking a gift horse in the mouth; if (or when?) he goes, you'll be wishing he'd come back, I bet.

That said, I agree with y'all that it's nice to have a mostly civil argument rather than just people calling each other names.

In the meantime...let's see the US take that gold medal back!
