Is Marquis Wilson not on the team anymore? Where did he go?

He has been suspended for breaking team rules, again, and didn't fulfill all of the requirements that Coach Whit said he needed to in order to be reinstated for this season. Coach Whit said that he can redshirt this year and play next year, if he complies, or he can transfer.

That is too bad about Marquis. I am guessing he will transfer considering the number of talented receivers we have gotten, which means he would probably not be a starter next year if he redshirts this year. He and that Deane kid, a former member of our basketball team, were both disappointing recruits considering their level of talent but unwillingness to keep the rules, apparently. Very sad waste of talent. My understanding is that they both have pretty difficult to deal with parents, at least that was the case in high school. Maybe that's a lesson to all parents who have athletes who can compete at the next level that they aren't doing their kids any favors by being over involved and outspoken. Any word on where Deane is, by the way? I wish both those boys the best,,,very talented athletes.

It's good to have Kruger healthy. Some people don't ever recover from stuff like that. I'm happy to hear it. Aug is always a long month. Can't wait for Utah Football.

Marquis Wilson is off the team permanently, according to the guys on the radio. He is not abiding by the requirements that Whit put forth and is not living team rules. He's a talented guy, but they've got other guys who will step up. It's unfortuante but not devastating.
Good for Whit | 10:25 a.m. Aug. 5, 2008
Discipline is good for a team. If Marquis doesn't step up then he shouldn't play.

Urban Meyer took that approach and whipped Ben Moa in shape and he turned out to be an excellent athlete.

I previously worried that Whit was a little too soft where Bronco seemed to be stricter...hope this is a change.

It sounds like their Athletic trainers put some serious work in too this summer.
