I just took the survey. It asked some pretty good questions. The only thing is that just one question asked about how involved government should be in funding these types of facilities and events. I think that all the cultural arts activities in SLC are great, but that doesn't necessarily mean that I think government should fund them. I think that generally if people aren't willing to pay for these things out of pocket--whether through ticket fees or charitable donations--then that probably means that demand isn't high enough to warrant government subsidy. Maybe government has a role in helping these sorts of activities start up, but beyond that I feel is unnecessary.

The other problem is that an on-line survey can be flawed. This survey rightly tracks if you've already taken it, but someone who feels strongly about the issue might take it from several computers to sway the results. Also, in general, people who feel strongly about a certain issue are more likely to take any optional survey, so you miss all the people in between those who feel strongly for or against the issue.
