it hit camp maple dell.
Blackhawk campground was erroneously evacuated due to a non-offical person encouraging peple to break camp and leave. This ruined a family reunion campout by casuing my family to evacuate about 40 people at 1:00 am Saturday. Now we wish we had asked for more information, but who is going to ask questions when there seems to eb a semi-emergency. I will next time. Phone calls to officials verified that teh evacuation was not real or needed at Blackhawk.
Tabiona????? NOOOO, thats where I grew up!!!! My grandparents are Wagstaffs!!!!!
We were at Blackhawk Campground when it was evacuated the night of August 1st. The Forest Service says it was a non-official evacuation by a "panicked camper," but I have spoken to several people who say it was definitely ordered by the campground host and they spoke to her face-to-face about it. There was no official Forest Service evacuation but refunds should be forthcoming. I have more information. Email me at blackhawkevacuation@cableone.net.
