If an emergency resonse plan is the best thing Utah could come up with then they are doing the miners a disservice in mine safety. Pressure must be put on obeying MSHA laws and licensing. If we had mine owners obeying MSHA laws then a response team would not be needed. Utah has made another dumb choice in promoting and encourgaing unsafe mining conditions for its mine workers. Utah still refuses to improve mine safety and their only thoughts and efforts have focused on miner recovery at tax payers expense. Safety in mines cannot be compromised yet our blackmail government under pressure again not to enforce mine safety. Where did Utah ever get its attitude that workers have no rights and safety is too costly for business? How can workers have a safe working enviornment when the state obligates itself to unsafe working conditions? Utah needs labor to organize and be heard above the inadequate labor laws protecting businesses. Vote democrate or independent seems to be our only choice now. I'm tired of Republicans and our Utah government being blackmailed by lobbyist.
