It's too bad that the Lo-Fi is "now defunct" along with the Zephyr, DV8, the Bar & Grill, the Cinema Bar, the Sun, and now the Urban Lounge. Downtown used to have a handful of good music venues, but they're dying off one by one and being replace by chain stores, or empty lots, or empty rotting shells that blight the streets of a once real city.
You know that if Amy Ray is liking the "vibe" in SLC, something has gone terribly wrong here.
Ummm...where oh where oh where is Amy? To date there is no scheduled show for either Amy Ray or the Indigo Girls. So Amy, if you are reading this, COME BACK!
Amy Ray and the Indigo Girls play music that is simply amazing. It's no surprise to me they are big here- people in Utah like good music, especially good music that is sort of folksy. But, much like with the band Erasure, some of our good old straight-laced mormons might come away from a concert saying, "Wait a minute??? You mean to tell me that they are ______!?! No way!"
