That Sam Payne is a son of Marvin Payne--wish the story had made it a bit more clear. We knew Marvin and his family way, way back when. Life has always been difficult for independent artists of all sorts.
Our family knows--we're writers. And while some of us of that time period, like Scot Card and Gary Ernest Smith have made it really big in the world of American arts and letters, there are many of us who made a living--just--and raised our families and loved what we were doing. But rich we didn't get!
Good for Sam--I hope he goes a long way with his music.
Sam Payne delivers such rich stories with such musicality that a person listening just can't help but be taken in. On top of that, he is a sweet man with a very nice family. Keep going Sam!
