Get over it. They just want money, and do not care about Utah.
Since I've pinned all my hopes and dreams to this one competition I really hope I make it! Wish me luck on my shortcut to easy street! See you in Hollywood, Dog!
Ummm, that's how entertainment works, dude. We get entertained, they make piles of cash, everyone's happy.
so this means that 45 minutes will be devoted to idol tonight on the news on channel 13. who cares about this? none of the people who win are stars. they dont find the next Elvis or bono in this. there are no entertainers just singers. Why do people still watch this show? it's a waste of time
If you don't like it, don't go and don't watch.
No Duh, this is not a charity event, and holly wood does what it needs, to make money. Everything you see on TV has money as the factor behind it, even the Mormon Tabernacle Choir sells CD's. And they care about Utah as much as they do any other state, it is business as usual. But hopefully you feel better having made your daily positive comment that really means nothing, except to reflect your unhappy chip on your shoulder. Have a nice day Waste
I just want to say that I don't care. I think American Idol is a stupid show. So there.....
I made it through to the next round. I am so excited. I sang my own version of "Imagine." I went to Murray High School. I will be a senior this year.
True, the rest of the time consists of 9 minutes of the suedo weather person hanging out someone's backyard, 2 minutes of a random person painfully saying "It's Rungy Time", 3 minutes for sports, and exactly 1 minute for World News of which 25 seconds is devoted to some cat stuck in a tree in northwest Japan while the story on 10,000 people being killed in a typhon gets 5 seconds max.
I guess that is why they call it "Fox Not News".
Given how many times a performer has to audition, I have to wonder how many of the singers got through who are just plain awful. After all, the first couple episodes of American Idol are pretty much just for the entertainment of watching the judges trash the bad singers. Obviously this isn't entirely about talent, or the bad singers would never have made it that far. Not a criticism -- just an interesting (and funny) observation.
Trust me on this, they have fixed lists of people they want. In top 24, there might be almost half of them that are pre-selected. Each year Idol sets their mind on what kind of winner they want. And they will pick at least 1 good looking teenage on the show for rating's sake. Sanjaya from season 6 did not make it, but the producers put him in top 24. Last year it was David Archuleta, but that's a surprise to them because this kid comes with HUGE talent.
American Idol should be destroyed! Same with all these lowlife reality TV which has destroyed television completly. Whatever happened to primetime television for real men? The only reason why I own a TV is to watch sports. But now most sports have moved to cable thanks to all the pathetic viewers who would rather donate all their organs than miss American idol. Reality TV is a complete waste of time. I would rather spend my precious time with something more construtive like 3 hours of root canal.
Well, I don't know what kind of list they have but if you are in show biz, this is just part of paying your dues. 6,000 people from salt lake want to be a stars well, it's not going to happen, and if they have that list of the top 24, I hope someone from utah is politically correct for the show. This is just like gambling, sometimes you hit it, most of the time you don't. If you don't try you'll never know. If you are hurt cause you didn't make the cut, American Idol isn't the only way to make it big.
So you're saying that 6 hours of pre-, post- and game time is a constructive use of time?
Interesting.
At least American Idol only takes up two or so hours a week rather than the 20+ you can spend during football season.
Appears we have a bunch of no talent Grinch's, jealous of anyone who has desire, intestinal fortitude and initiative to put themselves forward in the hope of succeeding.
Those who try out obviously have more enterprisingness than those who are too lazy, too scared or too fearful of failure and choose to disparage those who are willing to take a risk.
Hey Imagine, I'm going to find out who you are and then I'm going to call a PR rep of FOX and have you disqualified from the show. You just broke a rule. I will find you.
How come so much is said about American Idol, and little or nothing is said about Last Comic Standing where Marcus from Salt Lake, Tattoos and all, just made the Top Five. He is a winner and the people of Utah need to treat him with just as much respect and love as it does the American Idol People, or the Phony Baloney Beauty Queens. I have not watched much of either show this year as the TV is mostly background slowly being replaced by good music. However I like to catch the last couple of weeks to see who the Winners are if ever so briefly. Except for Kelly, Clay and Ruben and a few others, on Idol, and Ralphie May on Last Comic, I can't remember anyone names. I will never forget the V Twist on Americas Got Talent. Also Bianca Ryan. I think this type of show does a lot of people good. Some careers are brief and some are longer, it surprises me who America will embrace.
funny how some of you find it annoying to watch but worthy to blog.....hehehe. like there is anything better to do at 3 in the morning in utah. some camp out all night for parades, some american idol...to each his own
I auditioned in Salt Lake and the judge said you have a really good voice but you are just not what we are looking for this season. Oh well I guess. It was cool to go through the experience.
We went last year, and again this year. My Kid's only goal was to sing and get some useful critique. And to absolutely enjoy the experience. which we did! And don't be hard on imagine. If no one Knows who it Is, and there are no interviews, then were the rules really broken? Imagine being one of the 5% chosen. That has got to be really exciting! Good luck Imagine!
