I was impressed with Russell, and I think he will do well. WIlliams was amazing, to think what he is going thru in his personal life and still he comes out and performs. I laughed every time he knocked Marshall or Cunningham, his Jamiacan brothers, off the ball.
GO RSL!
Great game. Russell seems like a great addition to the team. Good win Boys!!!
Yeah Russell seems to be a great addition to the team. It is true that he didn't show much yesterday, but he did defend extremely well on when isolated in wide positions (the most difficult situation for a defender). I think that he also showed some of his versatility. He can get up the pitch but is also a big presence that appears to be strong in the air. I look for him to fill in for Olave (yellow card suspension) during the next game instead of Mantilla.
Russell's versatility is obviously helpful to our side, but his technical ability will be most appreciated to our sometimes erratic possession. Congratulations on a wonderful and gutsy win last night RSL.
Russell didn't show a whole lot of flair in last night's game, but the way he played the ball and even the simple way he touched, kicked and passed was great. It's amazing to see some of the recent European-"rejects" come to the U.S. The really do elevate the level of play on the pitch, whether they contribute numerically or not.
Hopefully he's not the last one for RSL or the league.
