My best wishes to Mr. Roberts, and I hope the Paul Bunyan sized meal does not prematurly shorten his wait for a heart transplant.
This is great but there's one more thing needed to make it really true to the time period and even better.
Grab that guy's cellphone that is gabbing in photo 3 and toss it out the window. Ahhh! The good old days before the plague of cellphones!
Hey, I have a granddaughter named Baylee Woolstenhulme, daughter of Heath Woolstenhulme. He is from Idaho! Small world to think that there are two with the same name!!! Mine is 11!
The best and fun. I recommend it highly!
Might have a long wait on a weekend night. Only went once, but the wait was over an hour. The person managing the waiting list (the owner?) said they make everything fresh and don't rush it. I'll be back on a weekday. It smelled and looked great inside.
you are the best , in rodeo and peops
Took my family on opening weekend, after a day of fishing. We waited 45 mins. The food was very good, the decor was amazing, took you back to a simpler time. It was great. I plan on going back on a weeknight as a date night.
opened the same way. Lines everywhere and 1 year later they closed. Place must be great if people are driving in from Toole. So many great restaurants in Toole.
Krispy Creme' are a dime a dozen- Authentic Diners are rare.
Where is Oakley located? I would like to eat at this estabishment.
and next to Kamas. Head East on 1-84 and get off the exit for Rockport Res. It's maybe 10-15 Miles from the exit.
I'm confused. Was this a restaurant review? If so, how about actually reviewing something, namely, the food. For an article about a diner, there wasn't one mention of what is served or how good (or bad) it is. A sentence of two would have been enough. Give me a reason besides the decor and young waitresses to visit the place. I can't eat the juke-box, no matter how inexpensive it is.
We went on a weeknight only to find a wait of over an hour. This was before the "Grand Opening." Owner told us all the food was fresh, just like Kevin. Glad to know the food isn't pre-made? I assumed most restaurants serve fresh food. We didn't wait.
Oakley is near Kamas, just east of Park City.
Had the food. The meatloaf was to die for,my wife had the smoked turkey which she cleaned the plate. My brother had the biggest burger I have ever seen, I think it was called the Diversion of which he took some home. My friend who lives up there says their breakfast'are great.
The food is mediocre -- soggy fries and burgers cooked to a cinder -- and the twerp at the door is officious and surly. You could only get away with a rip-off like this in the land of green jello.
Boy, I'll tell ya what, that burger really got MY taste buds a jumpin'. Shoot.
It's an eye-sore that doesn't match it's surroundings. I'm all for a diner but would prefer it at a location that matches the city-life diners are associated with. Not next to a ranch.
C'mon
Did you actually go and eat there, or are just trying to stir up negative comments?
or maybe google maps. The other directions were OK except for the I-84 part. The Rockport / Wanship exit is actually on I-80 (I-84 ends at Echo Junction).
Feel free to fire up google maps or mapquest.
