Although tax payers foot the bill for healthy workers that I approve of, the private sector also wants us taxpayers to provide health care insurance (socialized medicine) to everyone in the state, including illegal foreign nationals. If the private sector of business was forced to abide by healthy workers and excercise programs it would greatly benefit them. But with so many available illegal foreign nationals the private sector can do as it pleases. The private sector employers relies on public assisted health care insurance so the workers can get no benefits from its employers. Socialized health care is a product of business lobbist to eliminate any need to help or aid its workers. What would better serve the public in general is a mandated employer/employee provided health care plan and on site worker health program.
No Decreased Costs! | 10:22 a.m. July 27, 2008
The problem with programs like this it that they are funded with the goal of "decreasing health care costs". Then, its business as usual with no limits, caps, or other mandatory decreased health care costs. I may be more inclined to support these programs if they would say cut out all payments for the heart attacks that the prevention is supposed to prevent. Unfortunately, at the end of the day, very few "prevention" programs do anything except increase costs. The only area where increased spending has actually been shown in outcomes studies to have any overall benefit was in certain areas of medication funding. It you don't skimp on the meds, overall health care costs actually go down. A "Healthy Lifestyle/Wellness" type program is only theoretical, and so many have been tried and failed, that I'm surprised that people still are taken in by the proven lies.
