JJCJ likes CJ Miles. JJCJ thinks the team will look vastly different in 15 months, and Miles will be a good young rotation player at a great price for the '09-'10 season.

So you want the Jazz to get tougher and the best player you can come up with is Raja Bell? (Awkward Silence) No Ben Wallace, or someone like that, huh? Everyone's blaming the Jazz for weak interior defense from Booze & Memo and you want KOC to get another 2-guard, an already crowded position.

Very interesting prediction. I do agree that the Jazz have almost all the pieces they need right now. What will put us over the top is a quick start to the season and a large boost of confidence. I think the Jazz were more than capable of beating LA and Boston last year, but they didn't have the mental edge to do it. If they can start quick next season, and get some solid road wins, particulary in San Antonio and LA, then it will their turn to be in someone else's head and not the other way around.

They are still young and inconsistent as evidenced by last seasons road record. Lets hope another year solves some of those issues. Millsap for president. I'm out.

NOW if we can only get the great coach sloan to play players in their proper position:

Brewer should be playing small-forward. Not shooting-guard, he can't shoot.

CJ MIles shouldbe playng shooting-guard not small forward.

AK should be at power-forward not small-forward.

IT's no wonder these players struggle to succeed at their positions

The only real formula for winning championships is very simple:

Strong interior defense from your big men: power foward and center,

Scoring and shooting from the other postions (I call the small positions)

Every championship team I could possibly think of satisfied these conditions.

And teams that didn't, didn't win.

Not even the jazz in the past or now.

When they get a system that looks to scoring and runs plays for the 3 small positions maybe finally they will have real chance.

The only teams that look to be following the formula are:

celtics, lakers, detroit, portland, NO, and san antonio,

and maybe houston and orlando and new jersey

some these teams are very young and inexperienced like NO, and portland,

new jersery needs better players.

houston needs another small position scorer.

Teams like the jazz are not really close despite regular records.

Harpring or Kirilenko, I don't know which - but one of them has to go.

I find Phil Johnson's comments to be very telling, which is often the case when he said, "CJ Miles grew up the second half of last year." The first time I saw CJ play I thought, "Wow, a young Ray Allen." But he tanked his first two years. He shot .368 from the floor and .250 on threes in 05/06. He shot .345 from the floor and .219 on threes in 06/07. (Terrible) Last year he busted out and shot .479 from the floor and .390 on threes. (Very nice). CJ has talent, he just needs to continue maturing and gain confidence as he goes. I like the decision by the Jazz. I predict that the Jazz will continue to work on improving the team through trade going forward. Only time will tell if anything happens. They continue to, as they mentioned after the draft, add assets. And don't kid yourself, the Jazz have one of the deepest teams in the league. If they can click on all cylinders watch out.

This move made no sense from a business perspective based on their current roster and salary-cap situation. It almost looks like they matched the contract out of spite. Basically, CJ wanted to get away from Sloan and the Jazz didn't want to let him. I guess they were afraid he'd play well and make them look bad just like Mo Williams did when he went to Milwaukee and instantly played better than Arroyo and Lopez.

All Sloan has ever done with CJ is put him down publicly and keep him on the bench. He made some comment about CJ wearing diapers and ripped him for not playing in the summer league. Well if that's such a good idea why didn't Price have to play in the summer league? CJ's been in the league longer than him.

We all saw what good it did for Dee Brown and Rafa Aruajo to play in the summer league without a contract. These poor kids are damned if they do and damned if they don't. Seriously Almond played in the summer league and then these unrealistic critics decide they need to keep CJ because now they doubt Almond's ability.

Wrong. They each have been in the league 3 years.

CJ is 21 years of age, would be entering his senior year of college had he stayed in school. Price on the other hand, is 25 and much more mature. He accepts his role without much complaint, instead of sulking when he's substituted for like Miles does.

And Price came from one of the low rungs of college ball to make the NBA. He earns what he gets. Miles has yet to earn anything, in my opinion. He squandered a chance to start 2 years ago with selfish play and horrible defense. And he really didn't show much last year, despite getting several opportunities when guys were hurt, to play well. He played okay, but not well enough to warrant consistent minutes.

i love the signing of miles....while i'm in the minority, i think miles has the ability to be one of the better sg, sf's in the league...i also watched optimistically when he was actually on the court that he worked hard on defense.....with playing time (and thats the key),he could be a huge addition for the jazz, now and more importantly, in to the future..i'm just glad that for a change, i don't have to watch the jazz spend 3 or 4 years developing a player for another franchise only to have said player hurt us down the road.....

you know, i dont understand what the big deal with kirilenkos "sucking" or "under performing". if he didnt play the jazz could not compete with top teams period. the jazz do not beat teams when hes out by defense, they win by scoring. what happens in the playoffs when those shots dont fall (aka the lakeshow against the celts in the finals)? can the jazz defend enough to win games when they need to make a stop without a stopper? i can get all those saying salary caps gonna be impossible next year but saying that andrei should be shopped because he is bad is ridiculous. go out and watch some basketball, the utility guys (grabbing that rebound, blocking that shot, setting that screen) those glue guys are important on any team winning. theres more to the game then what all you expert stat guys think. milsap and harp are those guys on the second team, kirilenko is that guy starting. take him away and can you get stops? move backups to starting roles and are they as effective?
