Jimmy's Grandmother

Again, I feel that the Jazz had to match the offer, but they need to deal one of their players to give playing time to CJ. He has a lot of potential and I feel that this could be his year to come out. But who do you trade? Every player at the 2 and 3 makes their case for why they are on the team. Time will tell.

I think part of proving that you can play, CJ, is by showing up at the Rocky Mtn. Revue. It served Ronnie Brewer well last year--he got the starting nod!

Mr. B.

The Rocky Mtn. Review is overrated and overhyped. Really, how much improvement can you get from 5 games and a few practices? It's the old Jerry Sloan guilt trip--"you didn't attend the revue like I had to, I'm going to hold it against you"--this is how Sloan operates, he's the Judge Judy of professional coaching. Watching their very average performances this week, do you think Almond and Fesenko have gotten that much better? Not likely. CJ was smart to avoid the revue. Let's hope this contract is the best choice for all parties involved...although for some reason, he reminds me of Chris Morris...we'll keep our fingers crossed. And Jerry, make this your last year...PLEASE!

c.j. miles did the right thing in not showing up for the review this year. you don't play for a team if you don't have a contract with them. and ronnie brewer played in one rocky mtn. review game last season - before he got injured. that is one of the main reasons why miles avoided the review last season: injury risk. it is typical for most young jazz players to play in two rocky mtn. reviews and miles has already done that. ronnie brewer did not earn his starting spot because he attended the rmr. he earned his starting job in training camp, NOT the review. if the rocky mtn. review meant everything, deshawn stevenson would be a superstar in this league. c.j. miles will eventually be one of the jazz's starters. if not this year (kirilenko trade+shifting brewer over to small forward), or in the next few years.

Bad Idea Jazz!!!

No shows at the last 2 Rocky Mountain Reviews was a sign that CJ was not dedicated to the Jazz (and getting better) and would rather play elsewhere. $4 Mil is way too much when we have other contracts (D Will) and Boozer next year that desperately need the cap room! They should have just given Almond more of a chance as he has more than proven he deserves it!

For those that don't know, matching OKlahoma's offer means they can not package and trade CJ! :(
He may turn into a decent player, but I am sick of the Jazz over paying for "potential"!!! Did they not learn their lesson on OVERPAYING for Ostertag's and Kirilenko's WAY OVERPAID contracts? At least DWill and Booze proved they deserved their money!

Good Decision

This is a smart move by the Jazz. Keeping C.J. and his potential can't hurt the team, and he's one of Deron's boys. However, another frustrating offseason from management. As long as LHM is making money with the Jazz, he doesn't need to extend himself and take risks to pay for a title contender. He knows if he keeps the team at a playoff level the fans will keep coming with the delusional hope of a championship. This roster will NEVER sniff a title becuase they are so soft. Name the last NBA team to win a title while being soft? It's frustrating to be a Jazz fan, but I'll still support them because I love D-Will, Millsap, Harpring, and the heart that they have. Just wish thier teammates would follow. Deron needs to jump on some teammates and demand more physical, heart-filled play this year, or else it's another patented Utah Jazz average run through the playoffs. Is it too much to ask Jazz brass that us fans get one legitimate chance at a championship roster? I think we've been loyal in this small roster, now show us the same commitment with a title squad...

MISTAKE

I meant small MARKET, not roster, my bad

trade harpring

harping misses layups way too frequently yet sloan won't pull him out. cj misses one shot and he pulls him out. also, from what i hear, he has a bit of a negative attitude.

Jazz fan in east coast

Although I've always loved Harpring's toughness, he needs to go. He doesn't have the lateral quickness needed to defend guys, and the Jazz have a log jam of SG/SF. This, of course would be after they get rid of Collins, who absolutely sucks. He's 6'11 and can't even dunk

Timmy's Jockstrap

Timmy feels that CJ mad a mistake by not participating in the Revue. He hopes that Miles will compensate by working hard between now and then.

Please

Lets not bring up the review anymore. C. J. is MILES beyond the review.Get with it Sloan/fans.

But then on the other I hand I know Brewer was under contract last year, he had no choice. He had to be there. Technically, just as this year, Miles had no contractual obligations to the Jazz to be at the RMR. I salute his courage. He looked out for his best interest. Now the rest of the summer will tell something. Will he work with passion to improve his game and show up at pre-season camp in game condition? Watch and see. I think he will.

Parkit

The Jazz are not going to exceed the luxury tax. With Millsap coming up next year this move indicates that the forward projected thinking O'Connor mentions leads the Jazz to believe that we will lose wither Boozer or Okur. The money is not there to do it all.

That said this is the year we either make it or not. All of the proverbial eggs are in one basket.

Jimmy's Same Sex Partner

Jimmy ssp thinks that Jimmy is an idiot when it comes to the Jazz. This was a great move, just you watch.

granny5

big mistake in signing CJ. He has not played RM Review in the two years. He probably got the offer simply because DWill and him are great friends. Now the bench sitter makes more than some of the starters. So I guess next year (or before) we say goodbuy to Brewer, Milsap, Almond, and perhaps Korvor to give the crybaby what he wants.
The big money makers usually turn out (at least with the jazz) to not be worth the money once the ink is dried on the contract, i.e. AK!

CJ and his agent thought it was the best business move to NOT play in the revue. You people that get on him for that are short-sighted. He wasn't under contract and didn't want to hurt his chances for getting signed by someone because of possible injury. Money is the biggest factor, not loyalty and anyone who says they'd do any different is an idiot. Good move CJ and Jazz! Cant wait for the season.

Over Paid?

Wouldnt you agree that everyone player is overpaid? My main question is, why do you care what the Jazz are paying CJ? It doesnt affect you, and you dont write the check. 4Mill a year is cheap. By the way, you are an idiot.

ID JAZZ

Sloan added. "We have a lot invested in him and will see where he is just like anybody else ... I'm happy he came back."

I wonder how hard Larry Miller and O'Connor had to twist Sloans arm to say that last comment.

Common People RMR does not make the player at best it shows the coaches where a players development is at. That is why they resigned Miles because the RMR showed coaches how one dimensional of a player Almond still is.
A bigger concern fo us the fans and the Jazz should be the center position. KOFO and FES still are only D-league material and that leaves the Jazz with same problem as last year and that is no inside presence. Probably should have made a stab at Camby. Jazz will have the same results as last year until there is a defensive presence in the middle and thats not Okur or Collins.

akk

I'm not a big Miles fan but I have no problem with this signing. The Jazz have alot of good players that they can trade. Hopefully Kevin O'Connor can package 2 or 3 players for a better one. Were're at the point we can give up more than a guy is worth as long as it is the right guy. Thats a good position to be in. To me the only untouchables are Deron and Milsap(because of his ability and lower salery). Go get them Kevin!!!!!!!!!!!!

TOO FUNNY!!!!!!!!!

I am LMAO! Timmy's Jockstrap, Jimmy's Grandmother, and Jimmy's Same Sex Partner, OMG how funny!

I agree Jimmy should retire it, but it does bring out some humor in others.

CJ, time will tell whether or not the Jazz messed up. But, until they can clog up the middle and play D, don't expect more than another annual playoff appearance. Hopefully, Booz didn't play D because of injury. I am not excited to see him or D-Will in the Olympics because it is a big injury risk and training camp is only a few short weeks away after the Olympics.

BTW, all players are way over-paid.
