This recent Chinese government response to the news media should not surprise anyone. And we can rest assured that similar limits on the freedoms of Chinese citizens go on every day in China.
The Chinese government, while appearing on the surface, to do all that it can to improve the image of it's nation in prepartation for the Olympics, still has some real human rights issues. It will be interesting to see if the Olympic events can come and go without more examples of how China treats it's own citizens when they try to bring attention to real issues.
You are right. it is going to be an interesting Olympics. The Chinese govt. is still a bunch of thugs who worry about thinking people.
