What a great celebration!! Thanks to the Days of '47 Committee, all of the volunteers, and everyone who participated!!

To writers Ms. Madsen and Mr. Swensen:

Professional writers do not use the expression "pooper-scooper" in the first line of a front page article. In fact, they don't use the expression at all if it can be helped, and should a professional writer find him or herself pressed to use the term by a need for colloquial tone, they are careful to qualify it by the use of quotation marks, or even to preface it with an unobtrusive "so-called". Anything less is the sort of thing that might fly for the Snow College Herald, but not here. Maybe the so-called "editors" don't care, but you should, regardless of their negligence.

I always love the Disney-beautiful princesses in their exquisitely modest gowns and the bands with dignified uniforms that do not distract from their fresh faces and stirring music.
I also enjoy the powerful horses and mules reminding us of the strength of the pioneers who used such resources to tame the barren west. All that and the wonderful can-do spirit. It's great! Thanks to all who made it so!

the BEST PART of the ENTIRE Parade is the Band in FULL UNIFORM from Mountain Crest High School. By far, the best band and the classiest act of all the entries! Every year I look for them!

"Pooper scooper" sounds okay to me. What discription would you have preferred of the implement? Perhaps "animal excretment removal instrument"? Nah, it is a "pooper scooper".

Happy Pioneer Day. My parents are converts and are pioneers for joining, sealing in SLC after driving across the country in 1970, and remaining active ever since.
