This is my 45th parade and probably my last...when spectator tattoos are more plentiful and interesting than the floats, it's time to move on.

By the thousands they've been leaving Utah for years and now millions of them are found across the planet - they may even be among your neighbors! Watch out, James - one may even be nice to you, keep his yard cleaned up and spontaneously help you when you really need it - all without fanfare. Be afraid James.

Does anyone know how the floats that stakes construct are financed? Out of the stake's budget??

I think that the Days of 47 Commitee give the money to which ever stakes are chosen do design a float. Great parade this year! Love it always! 1847 - 2008, lets keep doing this parade!

I helped my ward build a float back in the early 90's, cutting out and painting some letters for the side of it. I know the budget was miniscule but never knew where it came from. I know I bought the spray paint I used and didn't get reimbursed. But that's OK, I didn't pay my tithing that month, either .
