That makes sense. There were a lot of Presbyterians in the handcart cmpanies that entered the valley.
You go, Mike!

You Utah Mormons listen to an Ohio Mormon here...get off your high horse(s), doff your smug attitudes of superiority, and know that others live among you, too. It doesn't matter if they were on the original pioneer list or not. Hum a few verses of "I am a Child of God" and get the message that we are all pioneers on this earth anyway. Also, I don't believe, Diversity, that handcart companies entered the valley in 1847. Brush up on your own history before you decide to bash the Presbyterians!
You're right, Ohio Mormon. We Utah Mormons are all closed minded. Some other sterotypes you might want to look into: All Jews are rich, all blacks play basketball, all Mexicans are lazy. Maybe you ought to visit the area before you spout. What a dope.
What a nice thing to do! I am glad he was asked to to it.
why cant we all just get along! isnt that what the savior wants for us to do?
I do live in Utah and Ohio Mormon has a good point. There are a lot of Utah Mormon stereotypes that are correct. I've talked to a lot of our brethren that have moved here only to want out because of the close mindedness of some of us here in Utah. We need to learn that although we are predominant in Utah, we are a small minority in the country/world. I believe that a Catholic padre was the first to come to the Salt Lake Valley. We came later and settled here. We need to show our non-Mormon brethren through our acts what it is to be Mormon. Diversity's act show just the opposite of what we are about.
You're right, "Diversity," there were no Presbyterians in the handcart companies. In fact, there were no handcart pioneers in 1847, they were a 4-year experiment that started 1856.
But the Presbyterians did establish the first school system in Utah.
And my great-great-great-grandfather led the crew of 30 families that founded Fillmore.

Rev'd Neal Humphrey,
Please let us know when your Church congregation meets. I am leaving Mormonism and would like to check out your Church.
Thanks
