Right to speak | 10:08 a.m. July 23, 2008
I believe an official representative of the FLDS should be allowed to speak--of course, that is to risk self-incrimination, so maybe it shouldn't be an official. However, they have a right to define themselves, not be defined by their enemies.
Fair is fair.
Even a murderer is allowed to speak in his own defense!

I think they should let the FLDS leadership testify - and it should be their leader Jeffs.

Now that would be interesting.

Or they could let Willie testify. He can probably hold his temper for the first 10 minutes, and then we would see the real Willie.

I'd even settle for one or two of the women testifying. They may be told what to say up front, but it wouldn't take much to confuse them and get to the truth.

In fact, you FLDS that want representation - I say bring it on - you aren't the least bit prepared for the type of questioning you will get. You'd be digging your own grave (so to speak). Just don't continually claim the 5th or you're just wasting our time.

Just some quotes from the article. " Polgamy is no t just a 'Utah problem.' ..to effectively crack down on those who practice polgamy. THE HEARING'S FOCUS IS NOT ON POLGAMY IT'S SELF." HAR HAR HAR OH no this is not about persecuting polgamy that's why we so nobly excluded them and invited only their enemies. So as to get the Whole truth on how we already KNOW they beat their wives and children. And since we are so righteous and good and PERFECT we are going to "fix" the nonconformers by putting their fathers in prision and leaving their large familes without support to fend for them selves. Or better yet we could send them all to jail and 'rescue' them from thier enviroment wich we KNOW is abusive. They take care of the woman they love instead of flinging them out in the streets. something must be done of this terrible abuse. SEE ME I AM HATCH. HATCH THE BRAVE AND WONDERFUL. I STAMP OUT YOUR PROBLEMS. which might not even exist. The sarcasm drips off of my tongue. I have been poluted by even writing these words. Justice? Whats that? Yesterdays forgotten fashion.

Well, it WAS only a Utah problem, but Utah didn't clean it up. Now it's America's problem, thanks to Utah!

Mormons raise 20+ million to fight Prop 8, but can't raise even one million for The HOPE Organization to help polygamous women and children transition into mainstream society.

Will Mormons ever get their priorities STRAIGHT?
