They are looking good, but we didn't win in Chicago last week we tied. But that show our deffense off, cause it looked like there wasn't a RSL forward in the game for the last 30.

The defense has been outstanding this year. Now we need to close out the year in the same fashion. Obviously our record would better if RSL could hit the back of the net, but the first half of the season doesn't matter right now. Let's focus on the rest of the season. Hopefully the offense will find itself and maybe it will get some help from potential signings.

James see what info you can pry from Garth on that topic.

Ryan

Awesome.

Now let's go out and sign a striker and a winger and score some goals.

We will be picking up a striker in the next week or so. Just wait and watch.

...

"Just think how glossy RSL's record might be if it could score?"

LA scores lots of goals....but can't defend.

RSL defends...but can't score goals.

Which would we rather have? Defense wins championships.

Loving RSL

While I realize that MLS is just in it's infancy compared to soccer leagues around the world, I am still loving every minute of this growing game.

I am learning as I go. I have not always been a soccer fan, even after serving an LDS mission to Mexico and playing it every p-day with the locals I still had little appreciation for the game.

With the advent of the MLS, I decided to give it a try. I learned the rules (yes, I even understand the offiside rule now) and I have to say that I love watching RSL play!

The last game (Chicago) was intense. I was on the edge of my seat for 90 minutes. It was exciting and totally satisfying because at the end, with a hard fought 0-0 tie. I was happy to see my team still on top.

Can't wait to watch this team grow and improve with time.

Soccer has won over new fans here.

Olave and Borchers...

...have been a pleasure to watch. Nat rocks it in the air and Olave glides over to win every ball that comes his way. Keep them healthy. The midfield needs to do better at taking the pressure off by maintaining possession and dribbling it out of the back.

Go Real.

RSL Ulty fan

Olave should be on the All-star team!!! He reminds me of Eddie Pope when he was in top form. 2 goals in 8 games is incredible. I have played most positions in soccer, but I will say defense is my favorite position. The defense has a lot of pressure because if they mess up, it can result in a score. Whereas, the offense messes up all of the time (soccer in general, not just RSL's offense). RSL is moving in the right direction.

The new players are.....

The new players will be Robert Isaac Oleen Russell and someone else.....

Re: The new players are.....

Why would Real pick up a right back? This whole story is about how talented our back line is. So why would RSL try to pick up another back? Jared Borgetti is my bet, that would make the most sense

right back

Yes, Robert Russell has played right back, but is really a midfielder. He converted to right back at his club because they really like to play the backs into forward attacking wing roles. He would fit perfectly on the right mid side, somewhat how defensive Beckerman is on the left side.

The other may be Jared, but the this for that, I will come if he comes, rumor doesn't fit with Jared and Robert. Robert is almost a sure thing.

re: 11:06

Borgetti? Are you kidding me? He is so slow and old. We don't need another washed up Mexican international. The best is when he got owned by Oguchi Onyewu in the World Cup Qualifier in Columbus.
Now to comment on the article: I have to agree that Olave really should have made the all-star team. He has been our most consistent defender this season. Too bad we couldn't have matched up Olave along side the 2005 version of Eddie Pope. That would have been an awesome center back pairing. It is also nice to have a keeper like Nick Rimando patrolling the net to back up the back four.
Let's hope we can get the Win tonight!

told ya!

Real Salt Lake signed versatile midfielder Robbie Russell from Viborg in Denmark today, fortifying its depth in the midfield for its Major League Soccer playoff run.

He is supposed to be super fast; faster than Findley.

SLTrib Scooped the DNews on this one. James, your not holding par!

BTW

This signing isn't one of the 2 signings previously discussed. So, there are still 2 more players that may show up!

Re: 10:28

How come you knew 6 hours before the rest of us? Are you on Bigsoccer? If not...come on over.

Re: BTW

How do you know? Source?

Hey loving RSL...

Nice soccer testimony. I presume you are being paid to bear it. Soccer in the U.S. is dead and walking and Americans don't care because we are OK with not being like the rest of the world.

Soccer is dead and walking?

lol...

Another nervous hater...spouting his insecurities.
