Will Romney be named McCain's VP this week?

Worst choices we have ever had in a presidential election. Tweedledee and Tweedledee....
Don't be absurd!
Conservative Christians don't like McCain and they despise Romney for the fact that he is LDS. Adding Romney would elminate the Christian right vote- the exact vote he NEEDS to be viable as a presidential candidate. The exact vote that made Bush president TWICE.
Unfortunately Intelligent people realize that religion doesn't matter and race doesn't matter, but we have a large portion on UNintelligent voters that vote, whine, and pass along false rumors and emails about every candidate.
So- Romney's best chance is another shot going in as a presidential nominee in 2012.
Obama will be the next president whether you like it or not.
HE IS THE BEST
It will be quite entertaining to watch what the regulars on these comment boards say when Obama wins in November. They really should just start practicing to say "President Obama" now so it isn't too much of a shock to their systems. :)
I am an "Obamican" (a Republican supporter of Obama).
After the past eight years of disaster a VP would be under just a large a microscope as the President
Besides unless Mc Cain can pull a rabbit out of his hat and say presto !! Say President Obama and get used to it for four years.
To Same ole Same ole unless you live or lived in New England like I was during this time you have no idea regarding the stand and work Romney did to try to prevent that bill from passing.
Guess what? I'm a Californian LDS member, and I have NEVER been told who to vote for, what to vote for, or which party to belong to. I have never been asked if I'm going to vote, or how I am planning to vote. It is seldom discussed with fellow ward members. Polite people do not discuss their salaries, or their politics!
If you were 'told' how to vote, then someone practiced "unrighteous dominion", and overstepped their boundaries. Also, how would anyone know if you voted the way they wanted (or told you to), or not? You always have your agency to decide for yourself!
I've listened to letters from the First Presidency read over the pulpit, and that was it! No organized effort by the Ward to drum up support or funds. No further discussion on the subject at all!
In interviews I have NEVER been asked my political party, my political beliefs, or been counseled how to vote or support or defeat any measure.
So - you either have an axe to grind, or belong to a different Church than I do!
Let me see if this picture is appealing...a Democratic White House coupled with a Democratic majority in the House and Senate that would then approve liberal Supreme Court appointments in addition to the other liberal judges that would be appointed by the administration. All I can say is that if you want to hold on to the morals of America, you need to vote McCain whether you like it or not. I'm not a big McCain fan, but will gladly vote for him so that the Democratic Party won't have free reign in Washington. Think carefully about your vote because it has major implications for the entire nation!
Romeny will have fun defending Mark E. Peterson's comments on blacks and the priesthood before the NAACP and other Evangelical groups.
So my take on choices, Jindel is wonderful, but he does not want the job and he needs to be where he is, but he will one day be President of the USA.
Christ is rumored to be a closet gay and only got married to cover this.
Huckabee is not a choice, he and McCain would be two out of control fools together. They get kind of childish, and what strength does Huckabee have?
I don't hear a lot about Pawlenty, but from my understanding, he could be a strong contender.
Romney is also a very strong contender, if people will not put religion into politics and they want someone that can help turn the economy, they will vote for McCain/Romney.
I would hate to see our country destroyed because someone is voted for because they are black or someone is not voted for because they are Mormon.
Votes based on either of these are shallow and stupid, choose the person, not color or religion.
"We will have a true christian in the white house, of course he will be surrounded by all those gentiles so he will have to move with caution, but God is always on the side of the side of Isreal. "
I am a red-blooded, dyed in the wool Mormon's Mormon and would be delighted to have Romney, the Christian, in the White House someday. That said, the question is not so much whether God is on your side, but rather whether one is on God's side. WHOEVER gets in the White House needs to be on God's side so that he can be a blessing to this country.
Yes, I believe God will prosper Israel, but I don't think that it requires the acquisition of political power to demonstrate it.
" Roman pagans first introduced the holiday of Saturnalia, a week long period of lawlessness celebrated between December 17-25. During this period, Roman courts were closed, and Roman law dictated that no one could be punished for damaging property or injuring people during the weeklong celebration. The festival began when Roman authorities chose an enemy of the Roman people to represent the Lord of Misrule. Each Roman community selected a victim whom they forced to indulge in food and other physical pleasures throughout the week. At the festivals conclusion, December 25th, Roman authorities believed they were destroying the forces of darkness by brutally murdering this innocent man or woman. In addition to human sacrifice, he mentions these customs: widespread intoxication; going from house to house while naked, rape..etc.
The problem was that there was nothing intrinsically Christian about Saturnalia. To remedy this, these Christian leaders named Saturnalias concluding day, December 25th, to be Jesus birthday."
I do celebrate Christmas on Dec. 25th, but being informed, also know that it is an arbitrary day chosen by pagans.
A couple of bloggers have said that if McCain picks Romney, they will vote for Obama because Romney flip flops too much. Wow. Obama hasn't flipped flopped any positions lately has he? Incredible. Obama is a TYPICAL polition. There is no change in him at all except his positions. McCain is more of the same. My vote is for Steven Wright as President and Emo Phillips as VP. We would all go down in flames but we would at least laugh through it.
I'm scared witless if Obama wins in November. I'm on my knees nightly praying that it doesn't happen. I'm hoping that McCain chooses the right candidate - and if it isn't Romney, I hope it's Condoleeza Rice! she's smart, she's experienced and she has class. Something that Ms. Clinton is missing.
Obama 08 ONO!!
I've never been told how to or have told others how to vote in the church, and I am a political junkie.
I prefer to not be CHRISTIAN... But I will keep believing in JESUS CHRIST....does that count ?
The person who said the mormon church instructs
people how to vote is blatently telling a falsehood!
That is totally a lie! I have been a memeber for 46 years and never has the church told me how to vote!
Romney is the only one that is going to give him a chance to WIN! And not because he's mormon ...Harry Reid is mormon....and he's not qualified to be dog catcher of the senate! The person who posted...
MYTH OF THE VP...made a wise analysis! Mitt probably would be relieved if John didn't ask him !
At least thats my opinion......
This is the greatest nation on the earth, but Obama has promised to "change" all that.
God Bless America... with Mitt Romney
That way, when the new president stinks (and believe me, being from IL, Barack WILL stink) I can say "well, at least I didn't vote for that jerk!"
I'll join the rest of the complainers.
