I knew it was going to be romney when he announced he was writing off his 45 million dollar debt. Also he exited the race pretty quickly so there must have been a backroom deal. Romney's talent is buying up American companies and forcing Americans out of work. He is a shark. He is bad for America. McCain also thinks that that Pakistan is on the border of Iraq. He is so out of touch. What has conservatism done for America? Liberalism has advanced America. FDR and Truman did a fine job. So did Clinton. Hoover and George W has done an awful job with the economy.

Like it or not -
only people in Utah and Idaho believe Mitt Romney practices Christianity.

And this will always come into play whenever a Mormon seeks a higher government position.

Yobama is self destruct as soon as real questions are put to him. Right now he has prepared talking points to use from a sermon pulpit. That will end. The few times he has had to answer questions that weren't lollipops or rehearsed, he failed miserably.

Oh boy, here we go again... Saying "Romney is not a Christian" over and over again may work for a George Orwell novel, but that doesn't make it true.

Having said that, what would be so bad about having a non-Christian for a president? There are many capable people out there who will respect your beliefs and not throw you to the lions. Look at what problems religious intolerance is causing throughout the world. Let's not have it cause those problems here at home.

So stop bashing Romney just becuase he is a mormon. In short stop being a bigot. The world will be better off without bigots. So what is wrong with a mormon. They are non-alcoholics, does not even drink coffee nor gamble like other religious nuts. Romney has been married to Ann his college sweetheart for 38 years and going. Have five sons by her, never divorced. Have 10 grandchildren. No one thought of abortion. What a squeaky clean conservative man and family.

I am a catholic conservative. I salute Romney and his family. He is the closest one to my family values. Other religions, like the evangelicals are more against mormons, catholics, protestants and any other religion that is not evangelical. they are the only ones going to heaven as far as they know.

OBAMA IS FOR ABORTION, AY ANYTIME. HE IS FOR LATE TERM ABORTIONS. HE IS FOR GAY MARRIAGES. NOT AN IOTA OF CONSERVATISM. HE IS A LIBERAL 100%.
MOST IMPORTANT: OBAMA WILL RAISE EVERYONE'S TAXES, PERIOD. HE IS A SURE DISASTER TO THE ECONOMY. HE IS NOT READY TO BE COMMANDER IN CHIEF.

It is funny to me that so many people say that nobody will vote for Romney outside of Utah and Idaho. Too bad Romney won the primaries/caucases in Michigan, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, Nevada, Utah and Idaho. We also won West Virginia on the first but McCain's supporters switched to Huckabee on the second vote. We also did well in Iowa and even many of the Southern States (he didn't win but he was close). Would Romney being on the ticket bring tons of electoral votes? Maybe not. But his appeal is clearly spread further than the Mormonosphere. Also many media outlets are talking about him. They are also talking about Jindal and others but Romney definitely leads the list (check CNN's Veepstakes).
I am not sure whether I want Romney as VP for various reasons. But I think that he would not bad either, because although he has negatives, they are known negatives. Any other VP pick may well lead to surprise negatives. Romney also brings the economic experience. I would not want a regular guy who has never had success running the country (neither do I want an elitist). Romney earned his money because he is smart.

This is an act of desperation and jealousy by McCain. He's jealous of all the press Obama gets, he's doing alot of whining lately that the press is "favoring" Obama (well do something newsworthy then McCain) and so he's desperate to shift the spotlight onto himself, to steal it from Obama by naming a VP so early.

I hope it's Romney he chooses. All I can say is it better not be Huckabee... Huckabee, just can't trust him at all. For a supposed strong Christian he sure enjoys playing dirty. Huckabee, like Hillary, needs to be kept away from the White House in any shape or form.

I was going to vote for McCain anyway becuase he is the lesser of two evils, but if he puts Romney in as his V.P it will ease my mind.
And as far as mormons being in the White House, if all you Mormon haters will read "Prophets and Presidents" it will show you how all the Presidents (since the mid 1800) have been linked to LDS Prophets.

Wouldn't it be great to have McCain select Mitt. The Republican base, having its difficulties with McCain as their Party's candidate, will be having a fit trying to have the man they thought they removed from contention foisted upon them for a second time.

I am grieved beyond belief re: the propects of Romney being picked as VP. I have never voted for a Democrat and although I think it is dangerous for the country to have Obama as president, I cannot slap God in the face by giving credence to an organization that thinks that Jesus and satan are brothers. I do not even attend church & still this bothers me. I think Obama will be very happy with McCain's choice, if it's Romney. There won't be any need to bring up the scandal of Jeremiah Wright's church, all of the focus will be diverted by the attention to Romney's mormonism. Tell Karl Rove that before he endorses Romney as Veep, he really should thoroughly research the morman religion because I am sure that the Democrats will be.

I am a Romney nutjob, but I frankly don't care one way or the other whether he becomes VP. He would do a fabulous job no doubt. On the other hand, I don't want him to have to restrain his gag reflex with McCain's liberal/watered-down-concervative platform. If he does, great. If not, thats fine too.

Yes, the "Polygomus kid" you must be referring to is Barack Hussein Obama. You see his father was already married once in Kenya when he married Stanley Ann Dunham. When Stanley found out that she was a second, bigamist wife, she was distraught and this led to the split up of Barry's mom and dad. Obama Sr. went on to take other polygamist wives when he moved back to Africa. I believe he was engaged to marry another wife in polygamy when he died in a crash DWI.

The only reason McCains choice is important, and I'll cover all takers with 10 to 1 odds in virtual bucks, is that McCoot won't finish his 4 years, so the VP is virtual prez.

Do you really think America will vote for this? Obama turned to Wright's church because it propelled him into the influential circles within Chicago politics. Then when Wright's church's beliefs were made known to the country, he dropped them like a hot potato.

The guy has no spine - and just look at how he changes his views so dramatically from the primaries to the general election.

One correction, if McCain doesn't pick Rommey it will be because of his faith. I agree with the rest of your comment. However, Bigotry does exist, and religion will be an issue. Just like race will be an issue. If the South has to pick between a Black Man and a Mormon, I am not sure who they will pick. I hope that the economic experience and appeal to the conservative media is enough, but I am worried that it is not. I am a Utah Mormon and I don't care if Mitt is Mormon or not, I want somebody to fix some of our economic problems. I don't care if it is Mitt. I just want somebody to do it. I know it won't be Obama! From everything he is saying, and what I am hearing. He will make it alot worse.

What a great team this would be. A patriotic president with a military family background running with a financial and organizational expert. McCain is actually very conservative in his voting record. He has experimented with some maverick ideas but in the end, he is a true conservative. Romney is very good at solving problems and making things work successfully and he is a conservative. They are both moral men. I'd vote for em.

Romney would be the best choice. At least he was voted into office as governor. Mr Huckabee got the governorship by being Lt.Governor and replacing a convicted felon(Jim Guy Tucker). He basically ran unopposed for the next terms. His really only claim to fame he lost 120 pounds and taxed the heck out of the state.
