I will say that even though I would like to put this ethics garbage to rest, I am uncomfortable with the idea that a news outlet may be required to give confidential information, which, in my opinion, violate freedom of the press.

If this investigation is going to go wherever the information takes it, then could it also result in a conviction of Ellis for soliciting a bribe since he was asking for the raise?

The funny thing about this is ellis and his buddy empey have both signed affidavits stating they were involved in negotiations with Walker. If this is true then Ellis by his own word could be in a bit of trouble, and for him that means getting kicked off the ballot.
