Well, you would think people would LEARN from other people's mistakes and this guy obviously thought it was no big deal. I am glad those other movie patrons saw the kid and took action on his behalf. For his dad, well, I would hate to be him right now.

Dooku

what was this father thinking? Glad to see that he's been booked and the boy is alright...

Neece

Obviously people don't learn from other people's mistakes. The child could have died had it not been that the temps are lower that late in the day. How would HE like to be locked in the car with no food, water or cool air? Seriously - I will never understand.

Emily

Where the heck was the mother?

DAH...

Does this father not pay attention to the news?

He is odiously oblivious to the fact that even though the sun is not out the temperatures are still high.

People do not leave your children in carsthey dehydrate, suffer, and can die.

Emily

Some children's mothers die. Think before you type.

What?

I don't get your comment Emily. What in the world does mothers dying, have to do with what this guy did? What's your point?

ChrisinBay Area

Why would someone need to learn from someone else's mistake in this case?

Is it not obvious that you don't leave your children alone, especially in a parking lot so that you can see a movie?

And the heat in the car... ok, it's just to rediculous to comment on.

Thank you to the people who saw the infant and paid attention. These strangers shows more care and compassion for the child then the father. Enough said.

tigerlily

some people here obviously know nothing. it happened at 122 AM no heat as it has not been that hot at night here. still i agree what was that man thinking

WOW!

there are mistakes, which we all need to review so that it is not repeated, and then there is deliberate. This was deliberate - as it is stated in the article: "he rolled the windows up so that no one could get him out".
Oh - and 'tigerlily at 1:36pm - the fact that it was at night and that it is 'not that hot at night' is completely irrelevant. The child is still only 2years old, alone and in a stuffy hot car (and it stills gets very stuffy and hot at night without the windows down). He has no food and no water to quench his thirst. And the very fact that he was just left! That is more than a little uncomfortable for ANY CHILD. That is just mean.

for togerlily

The police checked the inside temperature of the car at the time. It was 87 degrees inside of the car, and the child had no ventilation or water.

I think they should lock the father in the car and see how he likes it!

Emily #2: Try using your own suggestion. The article states the boy was "released to his mother." One would then have to conclude that the boys was then in fact, alive.

As for the supposed father, how can you seriously be that selfish. Go to the movie another time.

Movie Ban

I think we should legally ban movies. They only encourage violent behavior and breed neglectful parents.

But seriously, this father is a moron! No movie is worth putting your child's life or health at risk.

Really?

Tigerlily, please tie your tubes!

Stupid people

I think stupid people shouldn't be allowed to have kids!

Sub-Odeon

Leaving a young child unattended in a vehicle presents a host of potentially deadly problems:

- Child gets heat stroke and/or dies.
- Child dehydrates.
- Child climbs out of car to look for parent, gets lost.
- Child gets out of car, and is hit by another car.
- Child gets out of car, and is kidnapped by molester.
- Child messes with parking brake, gear shift, clutch, etc. Car becomes a rolling missile.
- Car gets jacked and child is along for the ride with the thief.
- Child is simply lonely and scared?

All of this should give any reasonable parent pause, when they consider whether or not to leave their young child in the vehicle. I myself have done it a few times, at places like 7-Eleven, where I am in and out in under 5 minutes and have full visibility on my child and my vehicle at all times... And even then it gives me the willies, so much so I don't do it anymore because I am spooked something bad might happen to my little girl.

Best bet is: keep your kids with you! Never leave them in the car all by themselves!

Mom in MO

I don't get it...a man leaves the boy in the car and the first question is "where is the MOTHER?" What does she have to do with it? Do you ask "where was the father?" when Mom leaves the baby in the car? Maybe Mom has a night job. Maybe Mom and Dad are separated. Maybe the Father had other reasons for not leaving the boy with his mom. It's an accusation against the Mother when she wasn't even there! Where is the LOGIC??

doesn't deserve a child

some parents don't deserve kids. Children are precious and should be treated with the highest degree of safety and caution. Leaving a little boy alone in the car in the middle of summer is reckless, uncaring and irresponsible - this could have been worse !

What?

Re: Movie Ban
Seriously, a movie ban? How about making people take responsibility for their own actions? Violent movies don't make people go out and kill or hurt people. People go out and kill or hurt people and blame it on the movies so they don't have to accept full responsibility. How about making people get some kind of license or take classes in order to be allowed to breed? Breeding shouldn't be a right, it should be a privilege for people who are responsible and smart enough to take care of themselves and the children they would bring into this world.
