Beck optimistic about Miami's future

The magic number is 1:
The number of times Beck beat Utah in 4 attempts!
The number of times Beck won a bowl game in four years!
The number of times Beck had a winning season in four years!
The NUMBER OF TIMES BECK CRIED ON TV!!!!!!!
What do you expect from a QB that fails in big games!! 1-3 versus your rival; isn't the rival game in where a player is suppose to shine?
Great leader: Cries, losses big games, can't have more than one winning season...., this is the person I would want to lead my team!
If Beck is so great then why did Bill Parcels draft Chad Henne in the second round this year?
You're forgetting something: it wasn't *just* Beck vs. Utah, Beck in a bowl game, Beck winning or not winning.
TEAM, dude. Football is a team game.
Parcells drafted Henne because no coach in his right mind would go into a season with less than three quarterbacks on the roster.
And correct me if I'm wrong...but isn't Chad Henne out of Michigan? (Do I even need to say the words Appalachian State?)
As long as we're talking about their past, I'd rather have a QB who has battled through adversity to improve himself and his team than one who had the biggest football program in the nation behind him, and spent his senior season repeatedly choking in losses to teams Michigan was supposed to beat.
It's Becks second year now and he also has the worst team in the NFL; lets see if he can turn the team around and almost make the playoffs! Let see if Beck can throw for 3000 yard and 16 TD this year! This will be hard for Beck to do when he is benched the third week of year and Henne is starting, at least beck can cry about it again: "we are trying our hardest" boo hoo.
Utes and Cougs, lighten up. Here in the Pac-10, we know our football well enough to know that a bad team can still embarrass a good QB. So who knows what either Alex Smith OR John Beck can really do? And does it really matter? You people are the only ones who care, and I'll bet you all have better things to do.
By all means: You guys keep up your ugly squabble about whose ugly sister is ugliest. Out here, we play FOOTBALL. Shut your mouths and play the game, people.
Cougars: If you can get past Washington and UCLA, that'll have to do. Northern Iowa and Utah State don't exactly scare anybody.
Utes: Good luck with Oregon State. Oh, yeah, Michigan, too. On the far-from-scared-silly list: Weber State and Utah State.
If you want to get in the BCS, EARN IT. Especially BYU. As the rankings stand now, the Utes play the tougher schedule. So they won't get there. BYU might. But if the Cougs get into and win that still-hypothetical BCS game instead of pulling a Hawaii, I'll change my tune.
Finally--John Beck and Alex Smith would have both played in the Pac-10. As backups. And that's not trash-talk--I don't go in for that sort of thing. Just the truth as I see it.
That's all!
He's not the best QB on his own team.
He's also not even the best "Alex Smith" in the NFL!
He did get rid of his stutter, though. A good, hard sack will do that to you.
Those are facts, my friend. Calling somebody a fool and telling them to shut their mouths is trash talk. But that's OK for you, if you'd rather embarrass yourself. The Pac-10's record speaks for itself.
