Straight Veg oil is not only a summer activity. Just start the bus on diesel, get the coolant hot, and use the coolant and a heat exchanger to heat the used veg oil to 160 degrees. This is the basic design of most veg oil vehicles. You do have to have two fuel sources and various switching gear. Also, you have to run a bit longer on diesel in the winter (two to four minutes).
