I still say keep the big trucks in the right lane except to pass, other states do it why is utah so far behind on this matter. (DFM)

After having a near accident with a speeding semi at the merging junction of I 84 and I 80 near Coalville, and reading about so many accidents now involving semi's, why something is not being done to curb these truck drivers. Truck drivers used to be the model driver on the road, I cannot say that any more.

I know this woman and her family and I'm MAD!!! People who drive under the influence are some of the most selfish people in the world and for a truck driver to do it is even worse. Truck drivers used to be "the knight in shining armour" on the road, now they're just plain scary.

The driving conditions on highways and service streets in Utah are becoming increasingly dangerous. It is tragic that people are being seriously injured and family are losing love ones. In my work, I have contact with 275 to 300 drivers each year and most of them are respectable and responsible drivers because this is their live hood. However, how many drivers of cars, light trucks, and heavy trucks exceed the speed limits, take unnecessary changes in constriction zones, drive with one hand on a cell phone, or cigarette, and the other on a diet coke? Sadly to say their will be more tragic events in the news tomorrow about how the actions of someone caused another person to lose the companionship of a love one. I ask each of you, was it worth driving 80 mph, shifting lanes, while talking needlessly on the cell phone! Slow down and think!

It took the death of a 7-year-old in Glendale to get help taking care of the crime there. Here we are with yet another senseless death. Dont let Melissas death be for nothing, start cracking down on these semi drivers. Their aggressive and reckless behaviors are endangering everyone.
It scares.... | 3:51 p.m. July 18, 2008
the heck out of me seeing these big trucks tailgating me on the highway even when I'm going at 70-75 mph. I keep speeding up to keep my distance from them but they still creeps on me every time. And when I slow down to get them to pass, they honk at me as they pass, I guess to let me know that they didn't appreciate me for slowing them down.

I don't know what the solution is to make them slow down but I just wish that they would slow down.

Trucks are seldom a problem...many of them "gentlemen of the road" drive at 65 mph like I do to save on fuel. When a rude violation occurs with one of them, call the company who's name appears on the vehicle and make a formal complaint. You can get the number on the internet and the truck Number off the truck. Truck owners like to be informed about courtesy matters.

big truck drivers are like any other driver on the road.
Some are very good drivers, and others are dui or reckless.
The scary thing is that they cause lots of damage when then create and accident.
Being that they are bigger the should be held to a higher standard.
Calling into the company is a joke. A friend of mine that was a truck driver said when someone call the company on a driver they could care less and just joke about it.

Why was the semi on the southbound side arrested for endangerment when she hit the back of his trailer?

It also sounds as if the woman wasn't driving too safely. She should have recognized the truck driver was erratic and should have slowed down. Maybe this accident was the result of three not so careful drivers.
