Why isnt something like this going on during the middle of the winter? Why have this in the summer when there are so many other outside opportunitites?
because they're geeks.
If we sit out in the sun, our pale complexions will turn us all into lobsters!!! Besides, the sun gives screen glare.
All in all I'm not sure that I will go. I haven't heard of any big developers or publishers attending, in fact I know many local companies aren't participating.
I will see if my friends like it this year and decide about going next year.

I'm definitly going Saturday. The exhibits dont sound major, and yes it seems more of a Devry Institute publicity thing, but there are some interesting sounding lectures if your into game development.
They got one or two locals, but I agree it would be awsome to hear from local Avalanche or Disney groups more.
