I thought this was a family friendly newspaper?
This isn't a family friendly world. Why should the news be censored as such?
Your attitude baffles me
Thoughtfully done story of a distorted and violent world. Drugs, prostitution and murder. How does one make sense of the tragic victims and the perp?
Daughter, mother, sister, friend
but most importantly
a human being.
Deserving of our love
deserving of our compassion
deserving of our sympathy.
We as a community are poorer
because of this loss ...
we weep with you.
The world we live in is not censored so dont ask the news to be Believe it or not there is always more to the story then the press can release. Personally I would rather they just come right out and say it.
This is a sad story. No matter what these women did for a living they did not deserve to be murdered in cold blood. So get off your preverbal high horses and quit slandering their names.
Lady L:
Huh? Who was slandering? The comments weren't about the victims or about the crime. Merely about the language in the article. I, for one, prefer not to be subjected to 'street talk' while sitting at home reading my newspaper. I hear more than enough of that through the normal course of the day.
You (and anonymous) apparently don't mind. That's your right. But there's those of us that do mind, thank you very much. I think we have the right to not be subjected to street talk in our homes if we prefer it that way. And to not be subjected to insults from those of you that don't care.
If you don't mind the language then feel free to buy publications that won't disappoint.
I buy publications that I expect won't have this language. So I'm bothered when it does. And we can speak out by canceling our subscriptions, which I will do if this is the new 'norm', and not just a horrendous oversight in editing (or not editing).
The strange thing in this article is that the reporter uses the term "work the street" repeatedly, apparently to avoid the term "prostitution." Then out of the blue, the "sold her ass" quote appears. I don't think that quote was necessary, even if it's accurate. Why not use the correct term from the outset, if this was really how the poor women had to earn their livings? It's a description, not a value judgment.
May these poor women rest in peace.
These women were forced to prostitution by drugs. They "did what they had to" but they also did what they were compelled to. Drugs are the cause of so much misery. Working in the Weber County Jail as a volunteer, it seems like 90% of the inmates are there for drug related crimes. We may call it burglary, or prostitution, or theft, but it all boils back down to drugs.
What a tragedy!
Hello, Utah!!!!! I think that it is very sad that you people can not see what is going on in the world. I cannot believe these comments I have read about these two women that Jesus Christ loves. I pray there souls rest in peace. I just have one question and I HOPE God's Glory comes out of this. Do any of you think you are better than these two women? If so I will pray for you and ask God to shed some light in your life. His word says a sin is a sin. So Utah cast your first stone.
Well where do I begain, Rosaanna Marie Curz was my niece, she was from La Belle Fla. Her mother lives in Moore Haven Fla. We are all very sad about what has happen in Ogden Utah. my niece was full of life and loved to sing, and she had a great voice. She loved her kids. We just want everyone to know that Rosy was a great person and not just some piece of trash that i read by someone name heartless, she and her friend had the right to live. This man that did this is only God only knows why he pick them; there was alot of vitims in this sad situation our family and Ms. Tingey family and even his family you never know just how this will affect your family till it happens to you. So I ask everyone to just pray for everyone that this situation has hit we will all need it. we will let you all know how and when the Funreal will be, just as soon as we get her home. Thank you all again for your prayers
Theresa was my sister in-law. she had 4 children.I am sure they are taking it the hardest.I know she chose what she did for a living and addiction compelled her to make the choice. She was haunted by it most of her life.I was shocked and saddened to hear of her death.I am stunned that this man chose them to vent his anger on.Death is the hardest part of living for me to except.Everyone should pray for their children they are the ones that will need it the most.
