The Idiot is Miles. He has a chance of a lifetime. But, you have to work hard
to get better and achive success. He wants to make lots of money without
producing. Try that in the real world and see what you get. Noticed all the
teams trying to sign CJ. Not many!!! He has to improve as a player to demand
the money. The kid has great potential and skills. However, until he can prove
that he can play with the big boys, the money will not come.

The Jazz in fact have offered CJ a 1 year extension of just over a million
dollars. He can sign it at anytime, but he is hoping (pipe-dreaming) that
detroit will pony up a little more. It is greed, not common sense.
As for giving CJ a shot, they would, if he'd ever show up for summer ball. That is when guys get shots. Not CJ. He's too busy recording crappy rap music with Dee Brown to post on UTUBE.

Miles is an idiot. He will end up on the end of Jerry's bench where he
belongs. This kid, like so many others, wants money and fame without paying
their dues. I would dump him on attitude alone.

Before you start talking you should learn a little about the collective
bargaining agreement so you know what your talking about. Miles has had a
contract for 3 years now. The jazz Picked up his option for 1.2 million to keep
him a restricted free agent. Thats what teams do. All teams. Not just the Jazz.
Regardless of what happens, injury, what ever CJ will get paid that if or when
he signs the contract. Maybe he should come play and show other teams his value
and do something to help himself get a better offer that forces the Jazz to make
a decision. His agent and everyone else that is advising him are idiots period.
I agree with the former post. Name a few players who's careers have been so
much better after getting out from under Sloans syatem. Theres only a couple
that come to my mind. Maybe its all you Sloan haters that need to move on and
find a new team!!!!

If Detroit or other teams are interested in CJ, wouldn't he want to be in
the Rocky Mt Review so they could watch him play? Wouldn't dominating in
the Rocky Mt View be the best thing he could possibly do regardless of where he

But he will be the starter next year regardless of what Miles or Brewer or Price
do and so the Jazz will lose at least 7 games they won't need to next year.
Sloan says he likes hustle on offense and defense then he puts in Kyle who
doesn't move on either end. Every coach has a blind spot and two guard is
Sloan's. That is why the Jazz will make the playoffs more years than any
small market team should but will NEVER win a title. Take the bad with the good
and deal with it, I say, but don't blame talented players for being unhappy
they are overlooked.

I remember watching Milsap play his heart out during the summer league and
making a name for himself. It's no surprise that he got more minutes then
Miles, even as a rookie. So far Miles has not shown he's worth much more
then about a million per year.

Miles doesn't want to be here that is clear. He has a chance to be good and
may in another organization but he doesn't have the heart to deal with
Sloan or the competition for playing time. I hope someone gives him the money
that the Jazz won't match and we can see Almond play... he has talent and
the right attitude.

if the jazz want cj happy they would stop signing or trading for other players.
we need a backup point guard and a true center not a two guard or small
forward.get rid of collins, and hart and work a trade to get rid of somebody, we
just have too many sitters and not enough players. when your not playing you
become a whiner and not a winner.

Let CJ go. What has he done for the Jazz in three years? Nothing. He's
had more chances than anyone deserves, and he still can't even make the
full-time roster. He'll be out of the league in two years anyway, after
bouncing around to four or five teams in that span. CJ is a drain for money and
reseources. Cut him loose and cut your losses, Jazz. I honestly think that if
he'd gone to college, he would have fizzled out and never made it to the
NBA anyway.

Miles is a fool. Even if he doesn't want to play for the Jazz, the smart
thing to do would be to showcase his talent at the Revue for other teams to see.
On top of that, it shows the Jazz and any other team that he really is
interested in being a serious NBA baller. Once again he is sending a message
that he is not serious about his game. Stupid. Here's hoping another team
makes him an offer and the Jazz don't match. We don't need another
chronic pine-rider.

Get off CJ's back! He has great advisors and knows what he is doing. He
was told that he will be the next Michael Jordan or at least the next Pace
Mannion. But CJ does not miss lay ups like Pace did and he does not look like a

CJ is typical of many "semi"-pro athletes today. The only thing
professional about them is that they get paid to be on the team. They have some
natural talent, but far too many of them are too lazy to do any actual work to
improve their talent.
CJ isn't anywhere close to good enough to rely solely on natural talent. A new crop of rookies enters the NBA every year and if CJ doesn't change his work ethic soon, he'll be out of the league and pumping gas for a living soon.

All you whiners complaining about Sloan and CJ. Sloan wants players to work
hard and play so they can succeed. CJ has an offer on the table to sign and
won't do it. He could play risk free. Nope. His stupid agent tells him to

Ronnie Price wasn't even drafted. Four years ago, he got invited to Summer
League in Vegas. On that summer league performance alone, he earned a two-year
contract with Sacramento. That NEVER happens!! True Cinderella story! We all
know that Price has earned our respect and his dues because he plays the game
with passion. He's made spectacular plays on the court, yet remains humble
and hungry for success. Everyone loves him for it, and he has proved
himself.
What does this have to do with CJ Miles? If CJ was confident in his abilities, he would jump at the opportunity to showcase his skills and dominate the Rocky Mountain Review.
Joe Dumars is a class act and one of the NBA's hardest workers. He WILL NOT be impressed with CJ holding his agent's hand with the other hand open looking for money and credit he's yet to earn. Poor kid. Its obvious he's getting horrible advice from people who undoubtedly are more selfish and greedy than himself.

I suspect he is following his agent's advice. The thinking is that with
all the playing time he has in real NBA games he has little to gain by
showcasing his talents against lesser competition and much more to loose
especially if he gets injured or simply doesn't play well.
The real reason to be part of a summer league is to get better in the Jazz system. If he were committed to playing for the Jazz he would certainly show up. Of course when the only thing the Jazz are willing to give CJ are "qualifying offers" to retain the rights to him, he and/or his agent may be questioning how committed the Jazz are to CJ.
Personally I would advise him to just sign the offer , go to the camps, and be a better Jazz player. I think that would work out much better in the long run for CJ.

I always like CJ he has flashes of brillance (potenial) but I think the time has
come for him to make the step to the next level, sitting at home playing video
games does not help him accomplish that, maybe he should talk to Carl about off
season work ethic. Unfortunaly it appears that he will be one of those players
with unrealized potenial.

CJ is not all All-Star in the making. He can't evenearn regular playingtime
on the JAzz who need a 2 guard that can play defense, drive to the hole, hit the
open jumper and be consistant for 3 point range. Brewer can do several of those
things, so can Korver and Almond. If CJ was even # 2 in those areas he would
get regular playing time. That he is not willing to suck it up, get his butt
here to play, learn and get in shape and be a man says it all.
We need to sign him and trade him. If we get a 2nd round pick for him that will be a good deal. He may have limited succes on another team, but he will never be the 'man' and hs team will never go far in the play-offs. Too bad he could have been a decent role player here. Often agents give their clients very poor advice and just as often those clients take that bad advoce to their deteriment.

Nobody is denying CJ has talent. but why should the Jazz give him a big
contract. They gave him a qualifying offer. Thats all they need to do and then
decide whether to match any other offers he gets. Its called negotiation. The
problem is CJ is hurting himself and his career and losing leverage by refusing
to play in summer league. Also why aren't there 28 other teams falling all
over themselves to offer him a contract if at this stage in his carrer he's
worth more? Watch what happens next year with Paul Milsap who is 10 times the
player right now that CJ is and playing for a 1/3 less money. The Jazz will
offer him a qualifying offer, Either the minumum or what they feel he's
worth and then hopefully be able to match any offers he gets. Its the same with
DWill. If for some insane reason they can't agree on an extension they will
have the right to match any other offer next summer. Thats how the CBA works.

controversy between him and Sloan. The sitout is a move by his agent.

Miles doesn't want to be here, so just let him go. He gets 10 minutes a
game, which is a tremendous waste of his talent, and he's playing for a
coach who's notorious for not playing young players. Give the spot to
someone who's earned it, like Almond. He spent most of his rookie year in
the D-League and took it as a chance to get better, which he did. Try putting
Miles in that league and see what he says.

Trade CJ, Collins and Hart and get a single player that can dribble, shoot,
rebound and show the will to play the game. Combine CJ, Collins and Hart and
you wouldn't get such a player. CJ could be great, but he hasn't
shown the desire in the off season to prove he could be a great player. Dump

Rookies generally don't do great with Sloan because they don't know
the level of work required in NBA systems. Any player that is willing to play
hard and work hard will get respect, and time from Sloan.
There are three young players on the Jazz who were all drafted by the Jazz, but worked hard and earned there minutes (some even played in the RMR, novel idea): Milsap, Brewer, and Williams.
If CJ wants to play, and get a respectable contract, he has to prove he's worth it.

I don't think the numbers would support that Raja Bell did better with
Phoenix than he did with Utah. It is also notable that the Jazz were forced to
expose players in the expansion draft and ended up losing Pavlovic to the
Bobcats in 2004. I think the Jazz would have liked to have kept him and
developed him. Oddly, he held out and didn't play nearly as well for
Cleveland this year. (This not related to Sloan's coaching style at all.)
Finally with regards to Kris and DeShawn, Kris seemed to play better off the
bench for his new team, but has never been the NBA scorer that was hoped for
after his College days. He may have been better after his move and it may have
been the shock of the move rather than the change in coaching. DeShawn clearly
has played much better in the Washington system. This was a good move for
him, but the Wizards do seem unlikely to ever win more than a playoff series due
to the disorganized play. So, with a move, improvement, but less likely to ever
get out of the first round. (I know, Jazz haven't won it all here...)

Cj is doing what he needs to do. CJ works out hard every summer. He did not come
to camp last year out of shape. Sloan is just mad he is not playing in that pick
up game that they call the jazz camp. You dont go to work without getting paid,
so why should CJ?
