David Archuleta lip synched his whole performance. Theres no way a 17 year could sing that good. I think he had a singer with a Josh Groban voice sub for him. I was less than 15 rows back last night & noticed his voice was off by couple seconds from the music. By the way, David Cook is the real deal. He may not be an Eddie Vedder but at least he really sang. It was an excellent night of kareoke by mostly semi-talented performers. Jason Castro confirmed last night that you dont have to know how to sing a lick & could still make it to the top 10 on American Idol.

David A fans...NOW, we get to vote with our dollars!
Success comes in many forms and by all measures, David is one successful 17 year old. When was the last time you saw a kid with character, integrity and talent cause the stir that this young man has elicited from his fans? We are craving someone to cheer for and DA is that someone!!

Nina, David's louder breathing is something that resulted from the vocal chord paralysis he suffered from a few years ago. He is almost back to normal but he said he has wheezy breathing now because of it. So it's not a matter of him having to learn how to breathe in the future. He has to live with it.

For those of you who don't care, there are more people that do care. AI thought that that were getting the most original person when they helped to bring their favorite to win, but sorry to say they let the most original walk out the door. In thinking of originality..who is more original than someone who fits no mold...no genre of music...but can sing it all, someone who sings with heart and soul, making people feel what they are feeling, someone that needs no extra music because his voice is the music, whose character is way beyond most his age, who is not afraid to show emotion, someone who can sing a song different each time and make it better, someone who stands by his beliefs and will not give in just to be famous, all of these and more I could say...so tell me now who is the most unique and the REAL rebel? My dear haters out there...it is none other than David Archuleta. If only you would allow yourself to feel what he is trying to convey...only then you will "get" him!!!

Robert...maybe you need to just "believe" that someone can actually sing that good. He sings songs different each time so I would dare say its not a recording. Also, if you think it is not him...then there is still someone out there who sounds like an angel singing, and who is this person? Maybe you need to have faith like David and just "believe"!!

Robert Schultz - You obviously haven't gone to youtube to see the videos of all Archuleta's renditions of each song - different every time he sings them. Never, ever does he sing the song the same way. Perhaps you should do your homework before you make false statements about something.

Robert...I'm sorry, but I had to laugh at your lip synching comment. Apparently you are trying to diss David, but in doing so, you have paid him a great compliment in your next sentence. "There is no way a 17 year could sing that good." THAT statement is ALMOST correct. There is one exception, and that is David Archuleta. He is without a doubt the best 17 year old singer in the world! - Unbelievably amazing and beautiful voice!!!
I don't believe AI is set up for or would even allow lip synching. If you really want proof that you will accept, just ask David Cook. He has said many times that David is the "real deal".
It is also apparent that you do not know David, because he would never even think about lip synching. Are you kidding me? He LOVES to sing!!! He is so real and genuine, singing or otherwise.
I am not a teenager, and David Archuleta is the best singer I have EVER heard in my entire life; hands down; no contest. In 10 years, he will be a household name, worldwide!

Im from the Philippines and I care!
I'm a 61-yr old grandma and I surf the net DAILY for news about David Archuleta.
You people should be proud of him - he is kind, humble, sweet, talented and gorgeous too! He deserves nothing but kindness. Media is full of stories about so many troubled famous teenagers - Archie is a great model of the youth today!

I know this is a late post, but have been hearing so much about hateful comments here. There is clearly something wrong with those who cannot see the incredible talent and person that David A. is. I am 6l years old and have had my love of music( which has been dormant for more years than I like to remember) awakened by the angelic music and purity of heart and soul that oozes from every pore of David's body!!! My husband and I are so excited to watch his career skyrocket!!!! We all should be so thankful there is such a wonderful young man who can be a role model for people of all ages, and sing with such conviction...lyrics that we will not have to hide from our children. There is nothing not to love about David and his family. From a Minnesota mom and grandma. Rock on David...we have your back!!!

It took David Archuleta to get me listening to popular music again after 20+ years of straight talk radio and classical music only. That may not be significant to you, but it's a BIG event in MY world. He has an incredible gift, and the world is blessed that he is motivated to share it. He is an incredible talent and will be a HUGE success.

Besides the exquisite, soaring, emotive voice, he has charisma up the wazoo, and is cuter than cute. Also, he's really living right and people who can't put their finger on why they're drawn to him can FEEL it. The Spirit just 'wafts' off this kid, and it's that fact along with his talent that is catching people's fancy.

Some people are just naturally pessimistic so they diss most everything beyond their personal fixations. Others aren't comfortable with the Spirit. But, for those who are open to him and it, David is like a magnet. He's a joy, and he's addictive. I've NEVER been a fan of anyone, and I'm completely CAPTIVATED by this kid.

Loved this quote: "Don't get me wrong, I like David Cook, but he's Salieri to David Archuleta's Mozart." Nuff said!

Well, I may not live in Utah, but I can sure tell you that I know talent when I see it (and hear in this case...) I'm actually from Washington State, and I travelled (with my family, because I'm not old enough to drive yet...) all the way to Utah and got a hotel there for a few days just because of David.

I must say it to you all, I love both DC and DA, but I especially admire DA. I am completely and utterly AMAZED at what David's voice can do, especially adding that he has the best voice I've ever heard and the best I have ever heard a 17 year old do. (For Only being a few years older than me, that's good!) I'm also going to add that David even had vocal paralysis a few years ago and is still singing awesome despite having not gotten surgery done.

Not only that, but you can't say he is ONLY for people my age to his age, he is for ALL ages, and there's proof in the posts above mine. My mom always talks about how cute he looks and how great his voice really is.
