Hey to jw and the other comment. I CARE!! If you don't like to read why are you? DUH!! News doens't have to be gloom and doom all the time. It's good to see refreshing and good news. Good for you David that you're taking a shot at writing your own music ... you can only go up now. And keep your wits about you.. I wouldn't sign anybody's stomach either.
Kathy | 10:18 a.m. July 14, 2008
His weather report was fun and his versions of "Crazy" and "Waiting on the World to Change" were incredible.

Yes, I DO CARE!
Amazed | 10:40 a.m. July 14, 2008
I'm amazed at how many people let someone else tell them who is a star and who is not. He's still just a Murray high kid who sings. I wouldn't go see him in concert if you paid me.
Never changes | 11:02 a.m. July 14, 2008
He's still wearing the same scummy t-shirt from Idol...which is why he will only attract tweeners.
Get ready Utah your IDOL back. Worship as you may.
Anonymous | 11:03 a.m. July 14, 2008
Happy for David that he is backing home.
I am a huge David Archuleta fan and I still feel responsible for not voting enough on idol night.
Hope his home town people will show him enough love and make up for him.
Anonymous | 11:06 a.m. July 14, 2008
Ok..I care, because I think this boy is AMAZING! An if somebody from Utah does not care..it's their loss.
I'm actually from Washington, DC and I am so sorry that I can't attend the concert in Utah.
Anyway, Washington DC loves David Archuleta.
This is the plce were was born Eva Cassidy, the singer whi inspired David so much. And we know to value a real talent!
Anonymous | 11:20 a.m. July 14, 2008
Who cares? I do!!!

I just knew the silly old trolls/haters would be out today...LOL. I don't think they realize how ridiculous they appear when they express total disinterest in a story but still can't resist inserting their own commentary.

I am so excited for the concert tomorrow! And we finally got to hear David sing Crazy. Wow! I can't wait for this kid's first album to be released.

Go David A.!
To the "who cares" comments... | 11:35 a.m. July 14, 2008
Lots and lots of people care. If you don't, no biggie, just move on to something else! There are lots of reports I don't care about, but I also don't take the time to complain about them being written for those that do.

Smile and enjoy life.
kidavidmania | 11:44 a.m. July 14, 2008
He's voice ... made me go "CRAZY" He is such an inspiration and he is so humble.

Guys, if you don't care and you have nothing better to say ... pls don't bother making a comment. Spend your time in better things!

We find value in appreciating David's voice, got it?
Over it. | 11:50 a.m. July 14, 2008
How long will the DMN be beating this dead horse?

Whats next?? Osmond Watch 2008 or Mitt in Residence flag raising like at Buckingham Palace so tourist can look and know if Mitt is in state or not?

Utah needs help moving foreward.

For those who ARE interested in David's music (and David), there is a party in Murray Park this afternoon from 1 to 4. All are welcome.
David Fan | 12:11 p.m. July 14, 2008
I care too! David is absolutely amazing and if someone doesn't realize that, it's their loss.

Crazy was SO great! Definitely just as good as [if not better than] all the hype!
Anonymous | 12:26 p.m. July 14, 2008
Go David! You are talented and it is so nice to have someone of your caliber represent Utah. You are cetainly a winner! You have an amazing voice and you handle publicity well. If we had more positive teenage idols like you our communities would be better. Happy in Houston!
sheebla@aol.com | 12:30 p.m. July 14, 2008
David was INCREDIBLE this morning he sang both songs amazingly well...his voice is fantastic!!
Do they pay these people? | 12:41 p.m. July 14, 2008
I swear that there is a paid trolling group that spends every waking hour to type the first comment on posts that involve people from Utah or the LDS church. They must go through a year of training to get their name down, "Anonymous", that is not a word I can spell, so I would not be able to get the job. Then the second year of training is probably how to write in a unique way, "who cares", it really is a statement that I never see written, I so wish that I could have thought of that. And then if they spend two additional years in training, they will be able to find a more original name or comments other than "who cares".

So David, good luck to you, I wish I was in Utah to see you plastered over the news, cause you really are a breath of fresh air and I am this old 54 year old that really adores you. And bless your heart that you didn't sign the stomach, I feel bad that you were tortured by AI to go to that stupid mindless movie. I look forward to your CD.
BigDAfan | 1:15 p.m. July 14, 2008
The pathetic and bitter people who don't have a life and/or career should start listening to young David's inspiring music for self improvement purposes. David is brilliant, gracious and beautiful.....don't hate, appreciate!!!
lda | 1:38 p.m. July 14, 2008
There are always those who enjoy tearing wings off rare butterflies, smashing brilliant works of art, etc. They are generally failures who want fame via the object/person they try to destroy. So ignore it.

David, I love hearing every day about your continued success. I'll bet you could write a book about some of the requests that you get from fans. Thanks for being yourself and not giving in on your own, personal values.

i love david archuleta!

If you don't care - who cares, you cared enough to read the article and/or post a comment. Perhaps your not caring is pure jealousy. As for David, I love to hear your voice, I wish you much success in your future. Follow your dreams and goals in life. Can't wait for your CD. (and I am a great gramma)
Another Fan | 2:55 p.m. July 14, 2008
Gotta love the anonymity of the internet. If these comments required a name and photo I.D., most of the cowardly bashers here would clam up and run for cover. Good luck to David, who has earned the right to pursue his dreams and is completely deserving of all the accolades.
Gal50 | 3:12 p.m. July 14, 2008
I'd paid to see either David before paying to see any of that established talent Idol put on its finale. David A has one of the best voices in the industry and he knows how to use it. Besides this being just a personal opinion, I was a business manager in a big-name entertainment company and so I can spot talent when I see it.

Depending on the nature of the album, David A. may appeal to women of all ages. He is a wholesome young man who parents would love to introduce to their daughters. People want decent singers like Clay Aiken and David A to succeed.
Pastel | 3:42 p.m. July 14, 2008
David Archuleta can still elicit emotion from all walks of life. For me, I like the emotion I feel when he sings. From other "walks", I guess it sounds a bit like jeolousy and non-constructive criticism. Come on, let David enjoy his spotlight in his home state..just as the other AI contestants will when they visit their homes. He deserves it. He really worked extremely hard to accomplish his runner up finish. I am not from Utah but you should all be proud to have nurtured this young talent.
Starrynight | 3:48 p.m. July 14, 2008
I wish I were living in Utah! Everytime when David talked about his family and Utah, I can see his eyes shiny with pride and appreciation. Utah means so much to him, I can tell. I wish I were one of the Utahans who supported him there. David, do you know people outside Utah also support and love you unconditionally? I will be his fan for life. His voice heals. This is a better world to live with David here for us.

David Archuleta is an AMAZING performer and an inspiration to youths and adults alike. Can't wait to see him perform in Atlanta. Utah, be proud! ^_^

If Angels had voices, I think they would sound like David!
CP | 4:00 p.m. July 14, 2008
To Never Changes @ 11:02am. You are SO WRONG. The tweenies as you say are not the only ones who like David A. then how come adults are also excited about him performing and waiting for the CD?? GET REAL!!!

And to Anonymous @ 11:06am. Funny isn't it that some people from his own state bash David A. yet those in other states adore him? I am from Utah and I like him. He is one awesome young man!!! And he deserved to win but I knew his talent wouldn't go unnoticed.
Vicky | 5:11 p.m. July 14, 2008
I'm an adult from Tennessee and I'm proud to be a David Archuleta fan. We're watching a superstar in the making. Haters, better get ready cause you're gonna have whole lot more to hate, cause he's exploding all over the music world and will be making a huge impact. I love David Archuleta!
Sydney | 5:28 p.m. July 14, 2008
David Archuleta sings like an angel, and that is NOT an exaggeration. He's going to do some awesome things in the future and I cant wait to see them. Go David A.!
val808 | 5:53 p.m. July 14, 2008
David A. was my favorite this AI season. He sings his songs making the lyric tell such a story, just like Sinatra did. He has a very pure spiritual voice and his melismas are so perfectly suited to the melodies. Jason Castro was my 2nd favorite. He didn't sing "Crazy" on AI; I read that the song didn't have clearance. Jason is on Youtube singing "Crazy" in one of his few bar appearances. I look forward to hearing David sing it. Perhaps it is on Youtube already from his Utah appearance. David and his family and his vocal coach Dean Kaelin, are so fine. Thanks to you all for a fine superbly talented young man. Dean has written a booklet about David's experience on Idol. A very good read.
Fran | 7:19 p.m. July 14, 2008
David Archuleta is an amazing talent, a legend in the making.
Time to listen | 8:51 p.m. July 14, 2008
I'm from Rhode Island and an adult with grown children and I'm so awestruck and delighted by David. I would think EVERYONE from Utah should be thrilled to claim him, but at least the rest of the country can claim him as from the US of A! Because I know he will be a superstar all over the planet! So when people say "Who cares?" My answer is "WE DO!" yay for David Archuleta

PS, Jason is singing "Crazy" on the Idol Tour as he had also auditioned with it on Idol, but was not shown doing it, just as David performed an audition of it in Hollywood week. The song was not cleared to be shown, so no-one who sang that song on auditions was shown performing it, if I understand correctly.

I like that "Don't Hate, Appreciate" comment!

Not to worry, DA fans, Haters~ "You can't Touch this."

Voice of an Angel...incredible talent the likes of which we've never seen, in a package like we'd never imagined.
Instead of the countless celeb-u-snobs who take for granted & squander the gifts they're given, as well as their overpaid salaries on drugs and status symbol 1000k designer bags, while acting "above" their adoring fans and behaving badly.

Finally, a young, AMAZING talent with a refreshingly wholesome, upbeat, focused, appreciative, gracious and humble attitude.
Go David Go...You Rock! Nice is the new Cool, babe!
Grandma | 10:25 p.m. July 14, 2008
Tomorrow night I will go to the Am. Idol concert and I am just as excited as all my granddaughters. We will be there cheering on all of the contestants, but our favorite is "Archie." Such incredible "pipes" that boy has. I love to hear him. He sings with such emotion that touches the soul each time you hear him. I'm proud he is a homegrown boy and for those who are bad-mouthing him, do you have a problem of the lobsters in the bucket? Maybe you haven't heard that story. Whatever, I am proud I am going to the concert tomorrow night and all ready David Archuleta, you have made Utah proud. I wish you well!!
Don | 9:26 a.m. July 15, 2008
Utah has much talent in their state and I know are proud of each one. I went t the concert and David A is good, but not as great as Delcan nor Charice which are his age. In time he will do better. All the idols are good in their unique styles. What makes all of them great is their attitude towards eachother and ou can feel the closeness in the concert. To acheive it, it has to start from th top and David Cook is gracious and wears the title of American Idol well. Eah one deserves to be were they are.
Nina | 10:10 a.m. July 15, 2008
Delcan is fantastic as well as Charice. Charice will be singing with Andre Bocelli. I agree in time David A. will do better. He breathes too much through the songs which he as to work on breath control. He reminds me of Johnny Mathis. I guess because of the hat, which I think whoever has his contract needs to dress him his age. I am excited to hear the albums of the 2 Davids. I have no doubt will do well.
chimul | 11:00 a.m. July 15, 2008
I've come to know something. There is no living person in this world who does not care about David Archuleta. I've read so many things all around and everybody (with the same old exceptions) think this kid is just amazing. For my work (I DO WORK) I have to travel a lot, and recently I had to go to Argentina - Chile - Peru and almost every single person asked me if DA would go on tour!!!!! My cousin lives in Germany and she asked me to send her his cd as soon as it gets to the stores. My God. Way to go Archuleta's parents. I just think this kid is absolutely amazing!!! love him.
Newmoon | 11:03 a.m. July 15, 2008
My kids got a chance to meet David and Jeff outside Fox 13 and later at the E center yesterday. They were very nice people and very down to earth. They were very impressed with how cool Jeff was. Fame hasn't gone to David's head he stayed around and talked to the fans for awhile before leaving Fox News station. The idols were all very friendly at the E center, posing for pictures, giving autographs.

My daughters attended the concert last night and are going again tonight. I'm glad that all the idols were given a warm welcome here. There was so much talent in this last season of American Idol and for my kids to get to see the top ten together on stage as well as meet and get pictures or hugs and autographs from most of them is something they will never forget. My son wasn't able to go to the concert but he also got to meet them all yesterday and that will be something he will never forget either. Thanks Idols!
Ear still ringing | 11:54 a.m. July 15, 2008
My hubby and I attended the concert last night and LOVED it! The idols kept commenting on the "noise" in Utah and WOW was it loud! You could tell they felt the love here.

David was moved to tears because of the cheering for him. He is such an incredible singer and so down to earth. We are huge fans!!!
Cares A Lot | 7:31 p.m. July 15, 2008
To those who said "Who Cares" need some pity, they're living pathetically, begging to be noticed. For all I care, I also don't care, not with David, but to those who said "Who Cares". They should be ignored, just the one who said he/she just read this article because he/she had nothing to do at work. How pathetic????.
These people just don't realize that they are outnumbered by those who care about David, and I for one, belong to these group. David is one in a billion. He is Godsend. His talent is way above and beyond.
