Scalpers will be selling tickets 2 for a buck.
awsomeron | 2:29 a.m. July 10, 2008
This does not matter. MLS does not matter. It is a fun game for the kids to play who can't play Football or Basketball and is much cheaper then Football. It can be fun to play for boys and girls and is good exercise. On the Pro Level in America it draws flys. Americans like Sports where you can score points lots of points. Area Football out draws Soccer. The NHL in Arizona out draws Soccer.

Are The Tickets Going to be FREE?

Let me guess Real-ly, you're not a fan? Gee that's a big surprise that some naisayer would leave the first comment. REAL has a new stadium, a very beautiful one, the team is improving, the fan base is growing. They are hear to stay DEAL WITH IT!
Hatuletoh | 6:56 a.m. July 10, 2008
My uninterest in an American soccer club perennially in contention for last place continues uninterrupted.
TheActuary | 7:19 a.m. July 10, 2008
Hatuletoh and all you other haters, you say you are uninterested in Real and yet every single article that is posted about them you are the first ones to comment. That is truly pathetic. Get a life.
Why write! | 7:37 a.m. July 10, 2008
I would hate to be on the battle field with you hates.
You would probably shot everyone you see just in case they were the enemy.

Can't wait for Real football

Wow four posts already from people who claim not to care? Oh, the irony!

Landing the ASG2009 is pretty cool, I guess. I mean, we'll get a lot of exposure and whatnot, and all of the MLS stars will be in town, as well as some big name team from abroad. It will be interesting to see how exactly this shakes out.
Real-ly | 8:16 a.m. July 10, 2008
...plus free popcorn and a Mountain Dew if you will come into the stadium.
Scads | 8:25 a.m. July 10, 2008
This will be fun, and it will extremely difficult to score a ticket...especially if the opponent is Real Madrid/ ManU quality.

Hopefully RSL can improve as much from 08 to 09 as they have from 07 to 08. That would make the All-Star team very well represented by RSL.
RE: BYU Fan | 8:39 a.m. July 10, 2008
There you go again with your funny jokes, being a BYU fan waiting for "real" football! ha ha! You should try last comic standing! Everyone would laugh at that joke!
Get Real | 8:42 a.m. July 10, 2008
You naysayers have taken too many headers while bowling. This All-Star game will be the biggest sporting event in Utah since the 1979 Final Four.
Back to Real-ity | 8:48 a.m. July 10, 2008
Last comic standing will be more like last fan standing. Try to do the wave at the start of the game with one person and his dog Pele in the stands.

My money's on the dog if a riot breaks out among rabid fans.
re: Back to Real-ity | 9:28 a.m. July 10, 2008
Before making such ridiculous comments, do your homework! ReAL has one of the most largest fan bases in the MLS! The stadium will be full, so once you get over your bitterness, come on down to the new stadium and enjoy the worlds most popular sport! We won't be a hater like you!
Blah Blah Blah | 9:31 a.m. July 10, 2008
I will never understand why people waste their time and energy hating on soccer! You don't like it fine, I don't expect everyone too. I don't like a lot of sports but I don't waste my time finding articles to make lame and uneducated comments about the sport! I just let people who like it actually enjoy it! Again I will never understand why people just want to hate for no reason! Grow up!
Re: Back to Real-ity | 9:51 a.m. July 10, 2008
BTW, MLS fans don't do the wave... they watch the action on the field. I mean, I know a lot of sports that we Americans traditionally like are kind of slow-paced, with lots of down time - especially with TV time outs and the like - but in soccer the action never stops. You go to the game to watch the play. Kind of a novel idea, huh?

Get Real: "biggest sporting event in Utah since the 1979 Final Four"

While I appreciate your enthusiasm, you have forgetten a few minor events since then. Namely the 1997 and 1998 NBA Finals. And that little thing they call the 2002 Winter Olympic Games!
????? | 10:41 a.m. July 10, 2008

Happy!!
This is awesome | 11:45 a.m. July 10, 2008
I am so glad we have a major league soccer team--and we get the All-Star team to boot! This is going to bring in a lot of revenue to the state.

To the haters out there: | 12:01 p.m. July 10, 2008
First Real-ly: Tickets will be scarce. Scalping prices will probably around $200, not two for a buck with free popcorn and Mountain Dew. For even suggesting that tickets go that cheaply, I can surmise that you are neither a college graduate (by contrast, I am a college professor) nor financially savvy (Enron stocks are going cheap) because you are semi-functional, financially illiterate individual.

Now to AwsomeRon, who is so awesome he can't spell awesome. Area football is popular. Go Cougars! Arena football is also cool. And, yes, the NHL team in Arizona outdraws the MLS team in Arizona because there is no Arizona entry in Major League Soccer.

Ronald A. Young, I weep if you really think tickets will be free.

BYU fan wrote: "Can't wait for Real football." As any grammarian knows, one only capitalizes proper nouns (names). By capitalizing Real, you are saying you can't wait for Real Salt Lake's version of football. Thus from your communication, I must conclude that you are not a hater at all but a huge soccer fan.

Back to Real-ity, I'd rather follow a lemming off a cliff than listen to your awkward attempts at intelligence.
Real Smrt | 3:08 p.m. July 10, 2008
Dear College Prof: Watch out who you are calling ignernt. You don't know a thing about either one of me.

As far as the cliff, gopher it but button up the cardigan.
Huh? Re: awsomeron | 3:14 p.m. July 10, 2008
What's "Area Football", is this some type of new sport? Please; do tell!
Real Tired | 3:24 p.m. July 10, 2008
I heard the luxury boxes at the new Real field have video games, big screen TV's for watching videos, and air hockey and pool tables. Just to make sure the attendees don't go home feeling like they had, you know, completely wasted 3 1/2 hours.
Re: Real Tired | 6:29 p.m. July 10, 2008
For future reference, because I'm sure you'll troll around here again, soccer lasts 90 minutes, not 3 1/2 hours. Oh, and they're real minutes, not like the final two minutes of football and basketball.
Real Time | 6:50 p.m. July 10, 2008
W.C. Fields once said, "I spent a week in Philadelphia one day." When viewed in that context, the exact time of a soccer game is irrelevant. 90 minutes or 210 is merely a figure of speech.
Prof. Rocks! | 7:12 p.m. July 10, 2008
If memory serves me correctly, W.C. Fields spent that day in Philadelphia attending a baseball game.

Thanks for the reference.

Go Real!
Soccer Rocker | 9:45 p.m. July 10, 2008
To College Professor at 12:01 p.m. July 10: As a general rule Real college professors don't need to wear their degrees on their sleeves. If you've got it, everyone knows it and there's no need to flaunt it.

So, surmising, weeping, and clever condescending comments aside, I'm afraid for you it's back to the x-box and Fantasy Soccer until one gets a Real job.
RSL | 3:21 p.m. July 12, 2008
SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICKKKK
that is going to be sweet
