disappointed

the sound was terrible and the words inaudible when Myli sang. Too bad.

Good Show

Stadium of Fire was good this year. The fireworks were especially fun. The blue man group was very entertaining. In all honesty, the sound for the Miley Cyrus portion of the show was very poor. About half way through her set, it was getting a little better- but even when she was talking by herself it was difficult to hear her. I was to the left of the stage where the sound should have been pretty good.

I know others who sat in other areas of the stadium made the same remark. However, I am not disappointed- the fireworks once again amazed.

I've heard Miley Cyrus sing twice. Pathetic both times. It looks like it's PR and lights and I don't know what else that makes people even want to go see her in concert. I admit I didn't even care to read this article, just had to respond to the headline.

New Miley Fan

It seems the negative comments will now proliferate. My daughter and I watched on the Jumbotron. I wasn't a fan but I was really impressed. She has star power. I would probably never buy her music, but she is no american idol castaway.

I sold the tickets we had to pay rent. People thought they would wait to the end and get tickets for next to nothing. I'm sure some did. A lot did not because people that were lowballing me a few days earlier were causing my phone to ring off the hook on July 4th. I guess the Provo paper ran an article saying "the ticket bubble had popped". I think the writer of the article was only part right. A lot of people who waited to the end and then wanted tickets below face, just didn't go.

I was half a mile away, north of the stadium, and I could hear the sound just fine.

she did awesome

I haven't been to the Stadium of Fire in 12 years. It was wonderful! But I agree with the others - I couldn't understand a word of what Miley Cyrus sang and could barely hear what she said. Every other part of the program was fabulous and intelligible. BYU or Miley's sound people need to figure out how to do a vocal performance in a stadium and not an enclosed arena.

Utes Rock

How come Des news mentioned the guy putting a BYSPEW hat on but didn't mention Jones pulling out a Utes Jersey and shouting- GO UTES! That was awesome! I laughed my head off!

SOCCER MOM

Miley is fun and uplifting. I am as big of a fan as my two girls. They did not mind that the sound was poor, they knew all the words...

MIley cyrus is so hot, she was so good last night. Me and my brother were screaming the whole time "I love you miley, your so hot." I am definately going to her next concert in Utah. I LOVE YOU MILEY CYRUS.

When people pay $50-$125 to see a show, they should be able to HEAR it! Blue Man group was awesome but didn't get enough stage time. I would love to see their entire show in Vegas sometime. The sound crew for Miley Cirus should be fired because we honestly couldn't hear a word she was saying. Sad for all the kids who went to see her.
The fireworks show was the best I've ever seen by far, and made it worth the trip from Ogden.

travelled 1000 miles

Glenn Beck -great
Program and Patriotism-spectacular
Blue Man Group- OK
Miley Cyrus- not worth mentioning
Fireworks- AMAZING as always

No Glenn Beck photos?

Would have been nice to see a few.

We Could Hear...

...but we couldn't see. With all the amazing jumbo screen technology available why don't the show producers spend a little of the gate on BIGGER SCREENS!

The show was very good and very entertaining. Miley did a great job live, and the Blue Man Group was very fun! :-) The fireworks were the best part, even though we are still trying to get ashes out of our hair.

For all you loosers bad mouthing Miley, let's see you on stage in front of 65,000 people when you were 15! This kid has star power, plus!

With all due respect to all of you complaining about the sound, I don't think that I have ever been to a stadium of fire event where the sound for the main performer was decent, and I have been to several.
I think that the only way to really enjoy the concert portion is to do what anonymous 7:21 did and be a half mile away. I have done that before and the sound was better. Go figure.

There is a lesson in here about America, and where we have moved from the correct direction, to where we gather to watch a mediocre singer who is barely 16, as the main attraction to celebrate the independence of America.

Everyone can do as they please, but I think something is wrong there. The ironic thing is, folks likely had a great time, felt a bit of a twinge in their hearts when the jets flew overhead, and really felt enthused and happy to be Americans as the fireworks flew, and the patriotic songs were played.

Tomorrow, they will be driving 80 mph on the freeway with their cell phones glued to their heads, giving the finger to anyone who gets in their way. The bosses and managers will still berate their employees, and the higher ups will go back to figuring out how to lower wages and benefits, and line their own pockets as they sell America down the drain to other nations by moving operations off shore.

Perhaps instead of TELLING God to bless America, we ought to be ASKING God to bless America, because American hardly deserves to be blessed much anymore.

You know, cyrus is the result of a huge effective publicity machine. She's not good enough for Idol. She sings through her nose. Lipsynchs her songs. She's an average singer. What can you expect from a generation who is constantly being fed mediocrity (jonas bros....). nothing more to be said.

It was Great

My 75 year old Grandmother almost passed out when she saw Miley--she was so excited to see her sing. We had the time of our lives last night. Best event EVER!

I had very low expectations for Miley, and somehow she was still worse than I expected. I don't blame her for the terrible show, I blame the FF comitee for choosing her and completely alienating the loyal older stadium attendees who have been supporting the show for years. They totally and knowingly sold us out just to make a few dollars and headlines. I know many people who support the stadium each year and couldn't get tickets beacause the commitee allowed scalpers to buy 25 at a time. They knew very well that by getting a teeny bopper many loyal stadium fans wouldnt be able to get tickets, for that they should be ashamed. If they couldn't see that this would happen, they aren't qualified to run an event this big.

I disagree with the people who said Miley and the sound was horrible! Miley was absouletly amazing...This is the first time I had been to the Stadium of Fire and I loved every minute of it..Miley did awesome!
