Nice job Ogden! Get another next week against the Cougs.
It was a hard loss for the Cougars, who didn't look very good (Coach Watkins was right). Hopefully they'll get a better result next week.
The only reason Ogden won was because 2 of BYU's players were playing earlier in the day with RSL. 3 of their other stars are out with injuries
No Jimbo...the only reason Ogden won was they are better than the zoobies. Quit making excuses..they are like...and they all stink!
And Ogden doesn't have anyone injured either. Just there three top guys are only playing 75% with hamstring and groin pulls, and a high ankle sprain. Your excuses are like but holes, everyone has one, and they all stink. Take the loss like a man. Ogden ouplayed them man. I saw it with my own eyes. BYU lost because their keeper let the goals get to his head...lost his concentration and couldn't guide his defense.
"The only reason Ogden won was because 2 of BYU's players were playing earlier in the day with RSL. 3 of their other stars are out with injuries"
Funny how zoobies don't think injuries constitute a legitimate excuse for other teams losing to byU. 'A win is a win' yadda, yadda, yadda
Why do they call it BYU soccer? Last time I checked, the only BYU soccer is the NCAA-sanctioned women's program.
But then again it is soccer ......
re: Jim, et al.
Only Richie Bindrup played any minutes in the RSL reserve game. Although most (all?) of the players had been involved in running soccer camps this past week, fatigue didn't beat the Cougars. They lost their composure and (like RSL) didn't finish their chances. As Coach Watkins said after the game, they didn't deserve to win.
Hopefully, the Cougs will have their heads on straight next week and beat the Outlaws then go on to win the season series at Ogden in the teams final meeting this year.
re: Good Luck with That
BYU's mens' team used to play collegiate club soccer. They bought a PDL franchise, and now play in the Northwestern division. While the players are all students, none of them receive any soccer-related scholarships.
Alright lets state the facts. BYU has been to the final 8 teams in the PDL playoffs twice. Ogden 0
Two words! Matt Broadhead! It's called veteran leadership. He had the first assist and the game winning goal. BYU needs a general on the field that isn't all hustle and muscle. Soccers a game of smarts and BYU got out smarted Friday night!
The Cougs are gonna have to step it up. Yes they were the first team from around here to go to the PDL....uh oh...there's a new kid in town.
